Re: Start Lamb
It's hard to compare QB in different situations with (and against) different players.
If we think the coaches know what they are doing at all (which I do), we have to accept that Kam is the best QB. Having seen all the QB's play under different situations if the coaches are not playing the best QB we can hang the season up because we're never going to compete at this level.
I seen some good things from lamb but I have to trust the coach on this one.

Re: Start Lamb
All things being equal we had 5 possessions that did not result in TD's. 1 FG and one really bad INT by Kam as well as a six play and punt drive, one three and out with Hallock and one turnover on downs while killing clock in the 4th with Lamb. Taylor also had the longest play of the day with a 60 yard run.

Taylor had the edge tonight. Campbell is a joke though. Next week will finally yield a good sample.

Southern Miss**
Seriously we'd lose to "open" before we'd lose to Campbell. I can't believe this team took UNCC to the wire last week lol.

Re: Start Lamb
It is far from being a lock that Kam finishes the season as the #1. No way Kam sees any action tonight in the second half if the coaches aren't evaluating both in game action.WVAPPeer wrote:I was referring to this week but, yes, unless Kam gets hurt he is our QB this season - I was impressed with Lamb and I'm glad we have him in the wings and certainly see him getting quality playing time --- So - save this one my friendGonzo wrote:I'm saving this for later in the season.WVAPPeer wrote:END THIS - PLEASE!!!
LAMB IS NOT STARTING OVER KAM - PERIOD!!!

It was clear they were trying to compare the two. Kam also got an earful from Satt after his six play drive in which we had to punt and he made a bad read.

Re: Start Lamb
BTW....did everyone notice that Hallock got injured? Looked like a knee which is why TL finished out the game. Hope it's not too bad because if he's down then we'll have to pull the shirt off Caruso should either Kam or Taylor get hurt.

I agreed Lamb was somewhat more impressive tonight, fwiw. But as Gonzo said, tough to get a read with such an overmatched opponent.

Re: Start Lamb
I know that's it's not either/or. What I was saying was if we lose Hallock we're down to two. Then if TL or Kam was to get hurt that's one. I know we don't pull it unless all are hurt but being down to one would make it way to close. That's what I was talking about.EastHallApp wrote:Would only happen if both get hurt, not either/or.firemoose wrote:BTW....did everyone notice that Hallock got injured? Re: Start Lamb
Lamb looked good tonight but he had a couple of bad throws. He missed a completely wide open Cox that likely is a TD or a long gain, and underthrew Bobo on a deep pass down the middle. He did look comfortable in the pocket and clearly is a better runner than Kam.

Re: Start Lamb
I was going to stay out of this for at least another game or two, but after watching both in person tonight, I think clearly Lamb is a stronger presence on the field. He seems more confident and more in command of the offense and the offense just looks crisper with him in there. Kam just looks like he's always on the verge of disaster and that interception he threw tonight was just terrible. Let's see how Lamb does in a couple of weeks against Southern Miss. If he has another strong outing, I'd say he''s the guy.

Re: Start Lamb
Moose is saying that if either get hurt - we have to have a back-up in place - I really hope Hallock is not hurt bad and he has 2 weeks to get back because he is the perfect #3 guy - been around, played in games, senior leader, etc. ---EastHallApp wrote:Would only happen if both get hurt, not either/or.firemoose wrote:BTW....did everyone notice that Hallock got injured? Re: Start Lamb
They both had positives and both had some negatives --- on Kam's INT, I see what I think he saw - the defender was partially down from a cut block and Kam saw that and I'm assuming he thought the guy was actually down - he wasn't, so all he had to do was push himself up from our blocker - really bad pass, really good play by the Campbell defender ---AppinATL wrote:I was going to stay out of this for at least another game or two, but after watching both in person tonight, I think clearly Lamb is a stronger presence on the field. Satterfield in the W-S Journal:
“We knew going in that we wanted to see both guys play,” Satterfield said. “We’re going to need two quarterbacks, no question.… There’s no drop off with Taylor. The offense continues to roll when he’s in there. We’re still evaluating those guys, and we told them that last week, and they’ll need to bust it every day in practice. They’re going to continue to battle, and whoever gives us the best chance to win is going to play.”

Tough day to day competition can only help them both ---hapapp wrote:Satterfield in the W-S Journal:

Re: Start Lamb
Some thought there was no way three year starters would get replaced, we've seen the coaches make tough calls at quite a few positions so far this season. They are going to play the player they believe is the best at that time. Kudos to them for making those tough calls.

I just really hope we don't revert to a duel-QB set as an actual strategy again. That was agonizing.
