It’s speculation right now that he leveraged SC for a raise. Pretty short sighted if that’s the case with so many furloughs and job cuts in 2020.Longrifle28 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 4:28 pmDid I read that he asked for a raise? In the middle of a 3 win season? Was he trying to use the USC interview as leverage? Not surprised at a lot of the comments. The fans by and large want him gone.

Re: Satt Done at UL?
I don't think he's done, and I expect some of this is short attention span media stuff that will blow over in a few days.
But I do think his chances of ultimately succeeding there look a lot worse than they did before the season.

Re: Satt Done at UL?
My understanding was that he took the interview without the telling the UL AD. That is the big NO NO and hard to undo. I want him to succeed and never felt bad about him trying to advance his career after giving us 5-6 yrs. However, almost like someone doing something that is not necessarily that bad but then lying or hiding it from you. That is what makes one really look bad.

Re: Satt Done at UL?
Common courtesy says you inform your AD when you talk to another school about a job. The AD apparently had no idea until there were public reports. That's what started the stink to begin with. His comments today only magnified the issue.

Re: Satt Done at UL?
So I just got through listening to the entire press conference. Maybe I'm alone in this but I am honestly impressed that he came out and addressed it and even took questions on it. I have a vauge recollection of watching a press conference and hearing a coach say that the rumors going around were flat out lies and said coach was gone that night, but I digress. In today's world we are used to coaches interviewing for other jobs but it's never openly discussed. I think Satterfields only misstep here was the comment comparing student athletes to coaches, I imagine he'd like to have that comment back. How this all plays out I have no idea, but it is most certainly worth keeping tabs on.

Shew that tagline is ROUGH! What he said about the players needing to be all in because of how they are pulled in so many directions actually makes sense. But as soon as he adding in that piece about the coaches it's like throwing mentos into diet coke! A sticky mess no one wants to touch!

Re: Satt Done at UL?
Hate it for Satt and I don’t know a lot about theses things but my gut says that was a really bad move and Satt either has an unbelievable 2021 in Louisville our he’s back in the G5 in 2022....you can think what he said but you can’t say it.....the only thing I would blame him for and it’s big, is not thinking about all the guys who went with him....he’s took on that responsibility

Re: Satt Done at UL?
They haven’t forgot Pitino or Petrino, which is why it stings them also much that the coach who was supposed to turn things around in more ways than just winning is now talking to other girls on the dance floor while in the midst of being 2-7. If the shoe was on our foot and our HC was flirting with a lateral job 2 years into a rebuild this place would be on fire.WVAPPeer wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 2:52 pmYes Louisville has a lot of problems within the athletics department but Coach Satterfield is not one of those problems - He turned around a 1 win program to win the ACC Coach of the Year and now they want him gone for something stupid he said???

Life career choices are about - 1) Job satisfaction, 2) pay and 3) location. Most can get one of the three, some are lucky enough to get two out of the three. However, very few will ever get all three... i guess Satt got one of the three after 2 years in his current job.

Re: Satt Done at UL?
He is unfortunate to be there when they are already under the microscope for other reasons only amplifying the viewership of his comments. His name getting thrown around at SC. Being at an ACC school. Him just asking for a raise after a 3-7 season. It being a slow news day outside of two nfl games and James harden not showing up to practice. His comments don't deserve national attention, but he couldn't have picked a worse time to make these comments. I don't think he meant anything bad with them at all but I also don't think he understood how they would be taken.

I would throw in a 4th. How about having a good or bad boss? Do you enjoy working for the person you work for.Appstate88 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 5:41 pmLife career choices are about - 1) Job satisfaction, 2) pay and 3) location. I am curious who leaked the SC interview? Also, keep in mind that Beamer and Napier both have the same agent as Scott. Do you think Sexton leaked it and thought it would get Louisville to bump his pay while getting Beamer a big money job at the same time?

Here's all I'll say about it:
1. Sooner or later, everyone puts their foot in their mouth
2. If Satt wins next season, nobody will care about any of this.
3. If mama ain't happy, ain't NOBODY happy

You are 100% right. We can't just cancel someone for one minor mistake. #3 is the most important and Beth will say the right things to Louisville people and in public but privately she is not happy and wants to be closer to home. I would be curious to see if Moose or anyone else is hearing this as well. She desperately wants to be close to home and would jump at an offer from UNC, NC State, or SC.

Glad to see a lot of our current and former players coming to his defense. App is a family, and Satt is a good one.
