No not at all. Although, I rarely post on any UNC boards due to the fact that a large portion of the UNC fan base is idiotic. At least those who regularly post.

LOL, message boards.

Pretty much every App grad/fan I know (myself included) has a bigger-name school that they cheered for before and during college and continue to cheer for now. You can rest assured even some App players fall into that category. I've never heard anyone complain about it or even mention it in person.

The gap between message boards and real life... Appheel, kudos on your civility and thick skin. Use whatever screen name you like, and more importantly, cheer for whatever team(s) you like for whatever reasons suit you. It's just entertainment, after all.

Once again App State insecurity rears its ugly head. I hate UNC as much as the next guy but I'm certainly not going to get worked up over what other allegiances others have. We are such a fragile bunch. The guy (Appheel) writes a blog about an ASU athletic team and folks questions his loyalty. Grow up.

I don't think it's insecurity, it's just a culture clash. Our fan base is in a transition as much as our teams. The younger portion of our fan base is becoming increasingly die hard (see hairy block A guy and other crazies, etc.).

IMO brandishing your dual fanship on an APP message board is a bit of a middle finger, but that's just me.

Said as well as I've ever seen it said. This goes the same for AppCavalier, AppCock, AppDeac, AppDevil, AppHokie, AppPack, AppTiger and AppVol. The only exception I can see is if you also hold a degree from one of those institutions.

I am a 75 App grad. I watch other teams play on TV when I'm not at Holmes or Kidd-Brewer. I sometimes have preferences as to who I want to win but it ends there. My kids graduated from UNC and Kentucky. So what! My money, my time, my interest and my pride and loyalty reside with the Black and Gold. Having another schools name linked with App in your ID is just wrong.

Anyone remember the original thought which led to this thread? Uhhhhhhhhhhh, emmmmmmmm oh yeah, Aaron Scott...the recruit who's said to have been a "pure shooter" as a prepster. You know, the guy who's yet to have logged a single minute of play six games into the regular season.

Obviously no one on the forum knows; or for some reason is unwilling/unable to say. Perhaps the answer will be revealed tomorrow night when *gulp* N.Greenville conducts a "Crusade" at HCC. Sure hope our starting three guards shoot better than their last outing--16 percent. That percentage still gives me heartburn. It's not like we were playing at Michigan State or Arizona.
