Starting yesterday, with some luck and staying healthy, we may run the table the rest of the year, :?:

No kidding. It was just a hunch and humor, dude. Plus we won going away in both. Of course the weather helped beat Gawja State.

All joking aside, we "should" beat Idaho and "can" beat Monroe. Lafayette and ArkSt would be an "any given Saturday" type win. If we can win 2 outta 4 it would be a 5 win season and definite sigh of improvement. Difficult, maybe even unlikely, but possible.

we're 2 missed FGs minimum, from having 2 extra wins (So. Miss and Liberty)

Wish we were playing horseshoes. I can turn a "leaner" into a "ringer" real quick :)

In addition, ULM defeated Wake earlier this year. Thus, if one wants to get an idea how we stack up against Wake (currently) next Saturday will provide that answer.
I know where you are going with this, but do not think Wake is a good barometer. Wake is literally the worst offensive team in ALL of FBS. If anything, this makes ULM's apparent strength appear stronger than they really are. That said, I do think their performance against A&M (though A&M started a freshman at QB in 1st career start) does show they will be a good gauge for how far we have progressed since last season.

FWIW, as far as Troy and Ga. State being the two worst teams in the Sun Belt - NM State and Idaho are right there with them.

Mainly I'm just glad we aren't in that conversation anymore.

I think the Liberty loss was a catalyst for what direction this team is heading right now. I've heard a few people throw around that we can beat ULL, ULM, Ark State, etc. Yes we can beat those teams, just like we could have beaten every team on our schedule so far. There isn't one team that is on our docket that far and away has better talent with the exception being Michigan, but they are even down this year. We just until Troy didn't come out of the gate with nothing to lose, and play aggressive App State football.

I have voiced my beef with the coaches here before, and while I dig the current winning streak of two, why did we have to lose to a FCS team in order to get here? This will make for two years in a row that we didn't come out of the off season and compete. I'm glad the coaches and players came out the next week against Troy and didn't pack it in. They could have done so, and for that I give them credit. I'm still frustrated over the start, but optimistic we can continue to improve and knock off a few of the better teams in the SBC. If we take care of business against Idaho and ULM, we are already above our win total from last year in the crappy SoCon. If we squeak one out against UL or Ark St. then we can ride that wave into next year with a 6 win "bowl eligible" inaugural SBC season. I predicted a 5 win season from the get go, and I think that is definitely attainable.

OT: It looks like Liberty's defense came away from our game with a new found fire, they have only allowed 7 points in last two games.
