i'm not being cocky. if any fan base was being cocky it was Charlotte with all of the trash they were spitting in our direction once they got CUSA invite
all i know is that RIGHT NOW, we've won 4 straight Sun Belt/FBS games and just beat the 3x defending conference champs on the road. i'll take that any day over having lost 6 straight FCS games and barely beating a D3 team
Liberty happened, yes, but the Apps are not playing like that team right now

Sou fans are giving it to stAte fans on twitter tonight. Talking about how they kicked the crap out of us. I've tweeted a couple of the worst ones just letting them know this team and staff right now is a much different team than the one that stepped on the field at the Stink. Asked them if they cared to try it again.

Who knows what would happen now but I'm betting that it would be a much better game than that Thursday night.

I'm impressed. Other than special teams, this team seemed very prepared and had a great game plan.

if we had beaten Southern Miss, i think that game against the Stink turns out different. confidence is a big thing to a young team. getting the first FBS win earlier in the season could have done wonders

We stomp a mud hole in Liberty should we play them now. That's how much improvement and progress SS and team have made. Can't say enough about how big the win tonight is, Ark St has an enviable program.

Wesley has been a traditionally strong D3 program. And yes, I think even a D1 startup should be able to beat a good D3 program. I would just like to think some folks here have the maturity to accept a compliment.

That Liberty loss may have been the best thing that could have happened to us. It turned out to be a real wake up call. If someone watched this team in early season and hadn't watched us until yesterday, they wouldn't recognize them. Outside of special teams, it is has hard to find fault with anything this team has been accomplishing the last four games.

If App had started the season like they are performing now they would be at least 8-2 now. Next year they are bowl eligible and that's precisely what they're going to do. Go Apps!!

Right now I am thinking we stomp a mudhole in So. Miss and maybe South Bama too.

You are asking waaaay tooooo much.
Just as a side note I have been going to the DIV III nat championships in Salem the last couple years and they could give a LOT of teams a run for their money.

The South Alabama game was actually the game that bothered me the most in terms of our performance because we seemed to collapse on both sides of the ball. Of course, the defensive performance continued against Liberty, and at that point, even my homer mentality was struggling to be optimistic. I am amazed at what these young men have done! We are two field goals from being a 7-3 team in our first season, and if we had been able to play at THIS level all year, I do think the GS and USA games would have been very different.
The future looks bright! Let's stay focused on the next game and keep this thing rolling!
IT'S GREAT TO BE A MOUNTAINEER!!!

Great to see and so much fun to watch.
Those bandwaggoners that have jumped off too early this season, well, screw you.
Yeah where is the fire SS contingent? There was some beautiful play calling that game, beautiful.

Remove Phillips from their line-up and put him in the backfield with Cox and Upshaw....which he was a lot closer to being than 99% know.....and our dear UNC-KonKord fans would have NOTHING to "crow" about. He, like Cox is special. (....and they, UNCC fans....even ones who did not go there) all talk trash, even the ones I like!

GaSo would not want a rematch this year and they definitely do not want to come to The Rock next year. Taylor and Marcus and friends will be awaiting them.

Awesome win hillbillies and I see one of you lost tooth...hehe.. , naw too easy... Anyway, I guess you saw the Beatdown by Navy over my Eagles. Just one of those days, but we sure didn't represent well. Looks like you guys are playing the best football in the Sun Belt now because we're pretty much falling apart. That said, I hope yall win out. I' love how both of our teams have transitioned and how we've whipped some butt and are finally getting some respect. I still hate yall, but GS and APP are the new powers in this league. To paraphrase the kid from Talledega Nights, ..."We made this conference our bitch". Now go whip ULL.

Phillips is the only player they have that I would want at App. maybe Austin Duke, but i think we've got 2 getting redshirted right now that are better than him
that team would be trash right now without Phillips. he basically carries them, but it's not enough b/c their original QB was horrible and their defense is atrocious

They are happy he finally changed his ways...and look what happens. I don't understand this calling out fans who called for change to happen? For a year and a half we saw just about this same stuff from this crew...we opened this year really bad...Then people started calling for change...since then we stopped playing for the future and started playing for now(changes all over the field)...and man our coaches and players are pretty damn good when they are playing to win now!!!(those 3rd down screens were so beautiful I almost cried) The coaches deserve all the praise they are getting because they changed and anyone who can't see that the coaches have stepped up is blind. Maybe it is just me but most(if not all) the people that post on this board is a die-hard App fan. I will never call out someone on this board for not supporting App because they are posting on an App fan site, I don't think to many "Walmart fans" do that for App.
