Better hope for no mechanical errors, have had plenty of flight issues when cutting it that close, although mainly on Delta.

Re: NO EXCUSES!
Getting caught up in the excitement. I'm getting 4 tickets and will give three of them away to current App students. Wife will be in New Orleans, so I will just have to stop on my way down. Will work with the ticket office to give three of them to our students. They have been great at the game. If you can't go, buy one or two tickets and send our young Mountaineers down for this historical event.

Re: NO EXCUSES!
I'll be there. Like EastHallApp said, I'm not blaming anybody who can't / won't be there. I just wouldn't want to miss the opportunity to see App in its first FBS bowl. I'm hoping this game becomes one of the find memories with my App family like the three NC's.

Me and my 2 room mates are gonna try and go but we are poor App students so I doubt it. I'll be cheering loud and proud from Winston Salem! Go Apps!

Re: NO EXCUSES!
I absolutely can't wait for this trip and to be a part of history. Amazing to see where our program has gone over the last two years. My mom (an elementary school teacher, ASU '87) and I are taking two days off of school and firing up the old family truckster early Thursday morning and heading south. I think WVAppsfan plans on joining us for the ride down, also. We are taking our time and doing some sightseeing on the way down on Thursday. On Friday, we plan on taking in some historical sights, checking out the Montgomery area and joining any App State/Bowl events on hand. We are staying at the Comfort Inn and Suites on Chantilly Parkway. Fairly cheap rooms and has great reviews.
Attached is a Google Docs that I've created with ideas of things to do if you are interested (I'm a history nut). I'm researching some restaurants/bars and will be adding those soon. You are welcome to contribute your own ideas/comment on mine.

Also, I'm hoping for an Acceptance letter as my Christmas gift (along with a bowl win) so please wish me luck!!!

Tickets are $25 and gas is under $2 a gallon. Split a hotel room 3 ways.crossza wrote:Me and my 2 room mates are gonna try and go but we are poor App students so I doubt it. I'll be cheering loud and proud from Winston Salem! Go Apps!
A poor man can afford this.

I got a group of friends together all between class of '12 and '15 who are gonna make the trip. And believe me, college student poor and recent college graduate poor are the exact same thing. We're pinching pennies, but it's App State's first bowl game since going FBS, I can't justify missing that.

Catching the Appfan74 Charter Bus with approximately 50 stoked Mountaineers! We'll be loud and proud.
Not to sound alarmist, but with only 25K seats plus the fact that 11K were sold before the announcement and Ohio travels well also....... If you haven't ordered your tickets, do it now!!!!!

Re: NO EXCUSES!
MD...has it been confirmed that App has sold 11k tickets? At $25 a pop, we've generated $275k+ so far!

Re: NO EXCUSES!
Shine- There were reports that the Camellia Bowl pre-sold 11k to locals and sponsors. That means each school will be offered 7,000 seats. I'm sure some of those 11k will end up on the secondary market, but it is likely each school will only get their 7k allotment.moonshine wrote:MD...has it been confirmed that App has sold 11k tickets? I know there was a lot of discussion about which bowl would be the best for us, but having a sold out stadium of 25,000 will look better than 20,000 in Mobile or Orlando with those stadiums seating 40k and 65k respectively.

Re: NO EXCUSES!
Totally agree JT! I think 25-30k stadiums work out perfectly for pretty much all G5 teams. Do we have any idea on how many tickets from App's allotment have been purchased?

Re: NO EXCUSES!
I preordered my tickets when the App web site starting taking orders. Almost all the ATL Apps I've talked to are making the trip. Some, like myself are making it a day trip as others are staying overnight for the full experience. LIke Chatty in the FCS days, let's make this "KIdd Brewer South" for one big day.
