Damn Drink. LOL.. been nice to keep him, but he is a beast for sure. He will continue to be good there too.

Nate Johnson 0.8800 Edge 6-5 / 240 Committed 12/21/2024 Appalachian State Missouri
Maybe that is the SEC tampering that Dowell Loggains was talking about in his interview with Daniel Jeremiah.

Is there any such thing as tampering anymore?

The NFL minimum for a rookie is $795k but you have to pay for your own Escalade and you family doesn't get jack.

That's seems like asking a lot for a 6 ft. tall 195 lb. Receiver who has only played 8 college games (as a Freshman) and caught 8 passes for 123 yrds. over those 8 games.

It is going to be interesting to see how and where NIL money dries up when they don't get the results they want.

Given that he has coached at two SEC schools, he likely knows about it first hand and perhaps even had a hand in it himself.

I find myself caring less by the day. Based on Holiday party conversations over the weekend, it is obvious that many supporters of schools across the region feel the same way.

I think what’s lost on a lot of people is the relationships between the fans and the players. In the past fans got a chance to watch players grow into starting roles. Fans got to a degree, invested in the players. Money and the portal are straining that relationship. I watched the S. Dakota, Montana State game on Saturday and got a perfect example of the fan to player relationship. Montana States QB was a 4 or 5 year guy and those fans love that guy. Seems some think winning alone will be enough to keep fans involved, I’m not so sure.

After the way he finished the 2023 campaign, I had really high hopes for Yowe in 2024. Sorry it didn’t work out.

And transitioning from the High Country to Jonesboro…talk about culture shock :|

Me too. For the first time since 1985 (my freshman year), I'm finding myself caring less by the day too.

Yup. If I wanted all my hard earned money going to professional sports, I wouldn't have sold my PSLs...

College athletics is ruined. I'm really struggling with renewing season tickets and I've been a holder for over 25 years.

I used to really enjoy college basketball. When some people would criticize or speculate about how good or bad an otherwise good college basketball player might be in the NBA it bothered me as I could appreciate that athlete in college and could separate from the pro level. Same for football. Armanti’s college stats and highlights went without saying and while it would have been nice for him to translate the pros I was fine to keep both separate. Now these “college” sports are simply minor leagues with free agency, salary contracts and the obsession with moving up. Gone are the days of having that really good true freshman who cracks the lineup and the excitement of knowing you get 3 more years with him. At App you pretty much accept the reality of knowing that hidden gem will bolt for a paycheck we can’t write.

College athletics are ruined for sure now. Just like someone posted about the demands the Texas Tech player wants. I would tell him to F off if I was TT. It's all about the money now and bet the academics aren't even in the question at this point for those looking for a payday to play. Guess our Yosef Club donations aren't good enough any longer for a lot of the players at App and 100% at the SEC, Big10, ACC, Big12 schools.

Actually college athletics are not ruined. DIV l football and basketball are ruined. Not sire about the rest.
Not sure about DIV ll but all sports in DIVlll are doing just fine and I am enjoying them more all the time. They actually are truly student athletes.
I am commited for one more year which will be 30 yrs, but doubtful after that. Of all the solutions I have heard I don't see one that works.

Players lack of care begets lack of care.
But the players that have returned give me hope !
