If Scott does leave, a certain FCS coach just may be already on speed dial and it ain't the guy wearing purple either. Go Apps!

The only talk I've heard around Raleigh is that 1. They can't afford the buyout, let alone Miles salary. 2. Yow isn't firing him unless he doesn't win another game.

Satt is too smart to take that job. Ledford better put some shine on his resume. Hasn't had time for it to get dust on it. Made a bad decision to take that job. Stepped off a strong boat headed up stream onto a sinking, old steamer. He could have stayed a couple of extra years and who knows where he could have gone. But, it could have been a lot better move. State actually has a bigger problem than APP. They're perpetually 3rd in a single market. That's not going to change anytime soon. They have the good fortune of riding the coat tail off the ACC.

All interesting takes and it has been good reading. Now a counter argument- how much is any football coaching job really worth? Obviously if you look for real return dollars a head coach at App might not be worth $1M per. Maybe it is. Many would argue that Saben is paid way too much money. Coach K brings in a boatload of money for Duke based on tournament success. As far as Satt goes I tend to agree that he should at least be in the top 3 in the Belt but then again are some of those guys way overpaid? Being happy where you are, the challenge of building something great and being able to live comfortably in a nice area also means a lot. If we run the table now and win our bowl game it might certainly get interesting.

FSU and Clemson are losses more often than not, but Louisville could be a flash in the Lamar Jackson pan. While their defense is the unsung hero, UL is not lighting up the football recruiting boards. As much as it pains me to say this because I have a particular disgust for each of the 3 programs, VaTech, Miami, and CHeat have perhaps a better future than Louisville. I could be wrong, but finishing 3rd in that division of the ACC is not out of a good NC State program and getting into the top 2 every once in awhile is not completely unreasonable.

Even if the most likely scenario of a Satt lead NC State program is consistently 7-5 or 8-4 and 3rd or 4th in the Atlantic Division, $2+ million dollars can make 4-5 losses a year a much easier pill to swallow.
Louisville has mostly been good since Lamar Jackson was in preschool. The only time they dropped off was when they made a bad hire in Steve Kragthorpe, which they rectified quickly. They may not be a blue blood, but they're committed to winning and they've got plenty of cash to keep hiring good coaches whenever Petrino decides to bolt for his next job.

I agree, however, that VT and Carolina are already good, and Miami will be soon.

One comment Satt made when he got his contract extension last year was that it guaranteed he would be in Boone til his kids graduated high school.

It'd have to be the right job for Scott to leave. He knows that it could be rough at first and to go to a place with an impatient fanbase would be a bad move.

State isn't dropping DD for another two years. Yow publically announced she intends to retire at the end of her contract in 2019. No coach in their right mind would take a job with an outgoing AD, and she's also made statements indicating she has no desire to entertain another football HC hire before she leaves anyway.
