Re: Attendance records
Was the student in good standing? Did you try to use a student ID that was not his or not a current ID? I think my last ID was my SSN with a -5 at the end as that was my 5th card. The other 4 should have been inactive. Did he try to enter twice?NewApp wrote: ↑Thu Jan 27, 2022 5:26 pmWon? Who cares about winning an argument? Re: Attendance records
It was a special circumstance and I wasn't with him. He is no relation to me but and I have known him several years through a civic club and had helped him get a scholarship to App. Seth had been to several games with the crowds of students over the 4 years or so he was there, but just didn't want this time to be with them. It had nothing to with and ID or in academic standing.McLeansvilleAppFan wrote: ↑Thu Jan 27, 2022 8:23 pmWas the student in good standing? Re: Attendance records
So, I called yesterday and asked. Any student presenting a valid ID at the gate will be admitted to the stadium. There has never been a situation at App where students were turned away from the gate unless there was some other reason like invalid ID, intoxication, etc.

Seth had gotten in to many many games with his ID with a crowd of students, however, this time he wanted to be away from the crowd. He had a valid ID, and in good academic standing.

Re: Attendance records
So now everything is confirmed. There is no student turned away due to overcapacity. Okay. Great. We're done.
Now, they're probably ought to be some concrete seats on Miller Hill maybe not taking up all of it maybe three sections the same size of our other lower seats. Band can sit there. There can still be grass in the two corners and it can still be called Miller Hill.
As far as the chapel Hill game it's going to be interesting to see how and where temporary bleachers are erected.

I would like to see us entertain the idea of putting some seats on the south end, Miller Hill, up close and in the center. Making that area a young alum section. Something like the “dog pound” in Cleveland. I’m thinking we could create an atmosphere that would get those recent grads back to Rock. Leave most of the hill in tact and allow the current students to surround the recent grads. Give the area quick access to a beer stand and require a Yosef club membership to buy tickets. Don’t make it too big so it becomes sort of exclusive.

Doug told some of us during football season that he is working on getting as many seats into the stadium as the Fire Marshall will allow.HighlandsApp wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 8:43 amSo now everything is confirmed. There is no student turned away due to overcapacity. Okay. Great. We're done.

Re: Attendance records
Doug stated on B&G Podcast (I believe B&G) similar to above as well as looking at patio section below the NEZ. I am a NEZ holder and would be fine to not having access to NEZ holder side of the patio for this game if it gets more App. St. fans in the stadium.

As a NEZ seat holder as well, I got the email stating that this is a possibility. I’m ok with as well for the reasons that your stated.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Sun Jan 30, 2022 8:31 amDoug stated on B&G Podcast (I believe B&G) similar to above as well as looking at patio section below the NEZ. Re: Attendance records
I think that would be a great idea to add some permanent seats along the top of the hill and leave an area below as grass to allow for folks to sit there or for kids to play on- to an extent. We are missing out on opportunities to better use the hill and the concourse area above it. We all agree that concessions are a huge issue. A lot of the congestion could be alleviated by simply adding some carts that only serve sodas and water. I generally only want a beverage during games because I usually ate before the game, don’t want to miss any action standing in line and don’t want to spend a lot of money on food.

Three center seat sections running down would allow twice to three times as many people fitting in there.Mjohn1988 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 12:20 pmI would like to see us entertain the idea of putting some seats on the south end, Miller Hill, up close and in the center. I think it needs to be GA; there are far more students coming to games than there are bench seats for them. The band should get one of the sections.

Re: Attendance records
The reason I’m suggesting a young alum section is because we do have a lot of students coming now and a good number of them are really into the games. Think about it, that group will graduate and the next time they come to a game they are separated from all their friends and have a good chance of sitting beside some old guy who complains that they are getting too rowdy. I want those young fans coming back. I think a young alum section gives them a place to transition from student to “grown up”. I think the idea would sell and I think those young alums would become one of the loudest groups in the stadium.HighlandsApp wrote: ↑Sun Jan 30, 2022 11:49 amThree center seat sections running down would allow twice to three times as many people fitting in there.Mjohn1988 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 12:20 pmI would like to see us entertain the idea of putting some seats on the south end, Miller Hill, up close and in the center. Re: Attendance records
From that picture, it would appear that they have a similar sized scoreboard above the stands in the other end zone, and they have one beyond the concourse on the hill.
