I have read his stuff and follow him on Twitter. I was just giving him a hard time. ;)

All in good fun. Looks like Big C gave him the business a little bit on Twitter as well, he was a good sport about it though.

A couple of tweets like the one below have shown up in the last little bit. I'll be watching his account to see if anything comes about.

2014 LB Nick McBeath will be choosing tomorrow between FIU, FAU and Appalachian State

I don't remember EVER having this amount of information about recruiting and that includes the time I was subscribed to Mountaineer Illustrated.

I don't claim to be an expert, and I can't say with authority that we're exactly where we want to be, but from my perspective, it feels good and I'm enjoying the ride.
This is my first post here but I am a pro FBS fan and this is one of many reasons why. We are going to have Marshall, ECU, Charlotte, WFU, etc. coming to Boone, we are already getting commits whereas in FCS we would have zero right now (5 already), and increased exposure. This is the first of many things to come that will prove FBS is the right move, as long as we spend our money wisely and don't price gauge the fans. It's good to see what many thought before in that players would jump on an App offer sooner if we were just FBS. It's happening now and that's good to see.

What makes you so sure that ECU and Wake will be coming to Boone?
I didn't say it will happen this year but I think our staff will get a home and away game with those schools. We need to add some more seats, in my opinion, but we will get those teams in Boone in the next 5-8 years, I think. I'll be surprised if we don't.

Firemoose, any word?
Thanks for that update link you sent me.
After running it, I was able to finally see what you were talking about and it finally pulled up.
You have been working your rear end off. Thanks. Good information.

Win some; lose some. LB/DL Nick McBeath has committed to FIU. Some sites had him as listing App as his favorite while other didn't even show him as a offer but he stated on his twitter it was down to FIU, FAU, and App. Local boy stays home. Not a big surprise.

Wake won't schedule us now even though they schedule other I-AA schools. There doesn't seem to be any reason for them to come to Boone. One of the reasons they don't want to play us is that we infringe on their recruiting territory.

Can't win them all. Currently we stack up like this (W-L) by confernce (2014 conferences):

BCS: 1-34 (but got to swing if you want a hit)
MWC: 1-0
AAC: 0-3
MAC: 1-1
CUSA: 2-4
Sun Belt: 4-0

Note total wins is higher than commits if they were offered by multiple conferences.

Sorry that you didn't know where the pages were. I would have told you sooner if I had known. Thanks for the kind words. It's been work but we're all fans on this site and I do what I can to at least give us some information. Labor of love. :D

I usually change my facebook avi anytime a first responder dies in the line of duty but this was the first time I sized one for on here. We all put it on the line everyday and it's an honor and a privilege to work side by side with my fellow firefighters, EMS, and police officers. Having known Eric I wanted to honor him and his crew. Their motto, in English, was "To be, rather than to seem". They were doing what they loved.

Wildland fires are one of the most dangerous fires to fight as it is a living, breathing animal than can generate it's on conditions, if large enough, and can turn on you in an instant. WFS and Hot Shot crews go into the belly of the beast to try and slow it down enough for surrounding crews to contain it. I've been lucky more time than I care to count. Sometimes you don't get a chance to be lucky. It's happened before and unfortunately will again someday. All my thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the lost.

And to the Granite Mountain Hot Shots I say-Your Job Here Is Done, Rest In Peace.

Agree Saint. We've got a LONG way to go until Feb and were going to start going head to head with the other Sun Belt schools and other members of the Go5 more and more as this process goes on. Comparing the boards on the sites shows a lot of the uncommitted players that have App listed in their Top 5 are higher FBS level kids with multiple offers. We will win our share of battles. How many is yet to be seen. It'll be interesting to see how the final totals stack up on signing day.

I'd say 20% vs. any conference would be a pretty good showing. We'll likely have 150 offers before we're done. We're already at 105, ~50 have committed.

From Twitter I have added LB/RB Jertaves Jenkins (6′ 2″ 215) of South Central High School in Winterville, NC to the Unconfirmed offers section of the main page and put up a player page for him with highlights.

He posted on his twitter that he had an offer earlier but I couldn't find anything to back it up. Normally I would just add them but his reported offers so far are only FCS (Gardner-Webb, NC Central, NC A&T, and WCU) so I was trying to find a bit more out. He's got pretty good size and speed and he looks good on film at both positions so I was just puzzled. Several reason why could be in play and it's not my job to question, just to post. We'll see where things go from here.

EDIT: Jenkins currently does not hold an offer but expects one (thank you John and 247). I'm going to leave his page up for now and see if the offer comes. Along those same lines OL Desmond Barmore (6′ 7″ 295) of Hardaway High School in Columbus, GA tweeted the below post. I can't find an offer for him so I have added him to the Considering section. Should that change I will move him and put up a page. He does have reported offers from ECU and Ga.St.

Although it would be good to win some kids away from ECU and Marshall we HAVE to beat SB teams for them.

From twitter and internet reports I added OL Garrett McGhin (6′ 6″ 255) of Florida State University School in Tallahassee, FL a couple of days ago and put up a player page for him but my internet dropped out before I could post in the thread. He has reported additional offers from ECU, FAU, South Alabama, FIU, Florida A & M, MTSU, UAB, and Valdosta St.

Also see the post two above on LB/RB Jertaves Jenkins for more information. Thanks to John and 247 for the info. :D

That was in the past. Did you not listen to the interview with Satterfield on the radio? He said we are in talks with Wake Forest about a home and away series. They stopped talking to us after we won 3 of 5 back in the 90s but now they are talking to us. I feel confident it will happen in the next 5-8 years.

Don't expect Marshall anytime soon. Since Marshall has moved up we have only scheduled two Sun Belt series. And have only played one. We had a 2-1 series with Troy when they moved up and we had a series with WKU scheduled for 2017 and 2018.

In the last few years our primary scheduling has shifted to scheduling MAC schools and middle of the pack BCS schools. In the last few years we have signed series with Miami OH (4 game series), Akron, Kent State, and we are in the middle of a 6 game series with Ohio (Ohio/Marshall is the longest series for either school). We are also in the middle of a Purdue and Louisville series.

From what I understand there are series with schools either signed or close to being signed for 2016-17 and 18.

I've read elsewhere that his top three are ECU, FIU, and FAU.
