The O line was a positive. Clemson only got to Joey once all night.
We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

As bad as we all feel, nobody feels worse than the coaches and players….although gorilla’s hang over might be close.
Getting back to work and busting some EZU ass next week is the first step to forgetting this debacle.

Please don’t take this the wrong way. I love Castle, kid as obviously worked his butt off but I’m not sure Castle being RB1 is a good thing for us. Put him beside say, Evans, and I’ll hope you understand what I’m saying. Again, great young man, love his effort and he certainly isn’t without talent. He was our only bright spot last night.

In summation it's not our coaching - Total talent disparity - with their coach and his umpteen future NFLers starting and in the depth charts that had sand kicked in their faces by Georgia last Saturday, and the national sports media and their fanbase all week. How many P4 and G5 would have taken the same ass whipping we got?

Getting talent is a huge part of coaching. I’m not saying we will ever have “Clemson” talent but we need to do much better.Black Saturday wrote: ↑Sun Sep 08, 2024 9:47 amIn summation it's not our coaching - Total talent disparity - with their coach and his umpteen future NFLers starting and in the depth charts that had sand kicked in their faces by Georgia last Saturday, and the national sports media and their fanbase all week. This goes back to a post I made in another thread, but where’s the money going to come from to get that talent? Because that’s the main driver these days - money. We have to pay that talent, and we don’t have the money for it.Mjohn1988 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 08, 2024 9:52 amGetting talent is a huge part of coaching. No doubt the talent divide is extremely wide. The issue is can our staff coach well enough to win the Sun Belt vs equal or less talent. So far the answer is clear. Will see if that changes by seasons end. At that point it will be time to make a coaching decision. Good or bad.

2021 10-4, 7-1 bowl loss
2022 6-6, 3-5 no bowl
2023 9-5, 6-2 bowl win
2024 1-1
ECU+9 conference games
If we go 8-4 with a bowl win, then he will keep his job and get to finish his contract. Anything less, and he should be gone. At this point, there are no more excuses. It is all his team and his culture. This is year five, and he has yet to win the conference. 8-4 with a bowl loss will put him on the fence and should probably be gone, but it wouldn't happen until after January 1st. No move will be made during the season unless we truly tank and DG is forced. If they keep him this year then he has to win the conference in year 6 or he needs to go.

So what are universities like App who have so much of their identity wrapped up in football going to do? If the p4 programs are that much better than us then I never want to play another P4 opponent. Getting beat that bad is awful for the program and those young men on our team. Do we pull the G5 away from the P4 and just play within our “league” ? Do we go back to FCS? I know it was one game but if this is what the future looks like I’m not sure I want any part of it. I’m not sure what G5 football looks like without the P4 games.BeauFoster wrote: ↑Sun Sep 08, 2024 9:55 amThis goes back to a post I made in another thread, but where’s the money going to come from to get that talent? Well another thing to consider P4 NC State was beat down over 40 points also by ranked Tennessee. It didn't look quite as bad as our 46 point L though. I'm just saying we weren't the only ones in that spot last night

The divide is only beginning. NIL and the portal have changed the landscape by a mile. Will be interesting how universities outside the top 30-40 decide to go forward in a few years.Mjohn1988 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 08, 2024 10:23 amSo what are universities like App who have so much of their identity wrapped up in football going to do? Georgia would get smoked by the Panthers. Don't be one of those guys (I'm pretty sure you are joking).Apptiger wrote: ↑Sun Sep 08, 2024 8:21 amThey played 66 different players in the first quarter per the TV crew. I hope last night was an aberration but I fear it wasn't. It also makes me wonder Just how scary is Georgia and could they beat the Panthers.
