I dunno. Maybe hang 79 on the board like he did on Western, or 72 on Wofford.
Trey Elder's T pass in the third NC game comes to mind, as well. As much as I loved to see it, if we are going down this road, we have to bring it up.
Trey's TD was a 53 yard run. AE threw 3 TD passes but last of those was in the 3rd quarter.
I'm not saying what Georgia did was a mortal sin. I understand that it was their second and perhaps third stringers in the game. I was just surprised that they were as aggressive as they were. I doubt anyone on the team had their feelings hurt. Mine was an observation not necessarily a complaint.

Yes it was. My defense is I posted while half asleep. I wrote pass while thinking run. Still, the QB keeper around the end is not running out the clock.

I would guess that there is also something else that was going through their minds. They didn't expect to be where they are. They expected to playing for a championship this year and instead they are way out of the running and the score is way to close to an FCS team. Hand that to the second and third string players and this is what you get.

Steve and David even said that Georgia had some of their 4th level players in the game midway through the 4th quarter.

I do remember the Delaware fans were upset with that play.

I'll take the position that going for a long pass when you're up by 39 with three minutes to go is an attempt to run up the score. The reason to do so is, perhaps:
1. UGA by their standards/expectations has had a bad season. A big win against anybody is analgesic.
2. UGA was favored by 40-41 points. Have to exceed the point spread.
3. App outplayed UGA in the first half. A statement had to be made to make the score in the newspaper this morning look more pleasing to their fan base.
I'm not particularly upset by their decision to run up the score. We play an SEC team on their field and they run a hurry up offense with three minutes left? It's like a championship fighter going for the knockout in the final round when he's way ahead on points. The challenger is still on his feet; he isn't "beaten". I'm proud of our guys.
We had a good showing and the final score can't overshadow that.

OK Charlie Cobb. If you don't like hearing the truth don't listen. His job is to tell us what is going on, not to sugar coat it.

2nd team QB came in at the start of the 2nd half. Those kids are a play a way from being in a big game. They need to run the plays as well. Our job is to stop them.

That's true but at some point, I don't know maybe 2-7 hanging with a far superior team for an entire half, you need to give it a rest.

it was read option play. it could have just as easily been a handoff to Moore, but instead Trey read it correctly and kept it. not Trey's fault the Delaware defense didn't account for him running the ball.
Difference being, it was throwing the ball down the field 30+ yards when you're up 30+ pts.

No, the thing to call would have been a dive. No need for the read option at that point. The difference you see is that yesterday we were on the receiving end of the whoopin and in the NC game we were handing it out. Personally, I have no problem with what Georgia did yesterday. Our job is to get better.

I was a little surprised that Richt continued to throw the ball downfield. He generally doesn't run up scores in these games. You do have to consider that the 2nd stringer throwing those late passes is being groomed to start next year. He needs game reps and Georgia paid a nice price for the privilege of getting those guys a workout. Calling dives up the middle doesn't get Mason ready to start net year. I can't be upset about anything that they did. At the end of the game, they could easily have punched it in....or even kicked a field goal. Instead, they called a running play on fourth down. It was our job to stop it.

We were their practice game this year. Positioned toward the end of the year it helps them do some plays they may not try against teams like Florida. Keeps them game sharp. We signed years ago, for what $300,000, to play this game and it was moved twice I believe. Score was so close in the first half because we dominated time of possession. Don't blame any team for running up the score. It's football. You don't want to tell your team to take it easy on someone. It's not a water faucet.

I'm still waiting for someone to explain why the offense should play defense against itself...I have no problem with what Georgia did Saturday. It's not their offense's job to not score.

For the most part, I agree, but there is such a thing as sportsmanship. Just because someone CAN do something, doesn't mean they should. On the other hand, there's something positive to say about clearing the bench.

Yeah. I could see some folks being upset if Aaron Murray is in there slinging it deep. But, backups...it's hard to argue that. Especially if the people who didn't like it didn't mind it when App did it.

I remember us doing it in the SC State game after they kept calling timeouts but I really don't recall when we were slinging the ball around in the 4th quarter of a game out of reach. I guess I'm just old school in that sportsmanship plays a role in how you play. Again, I wasn't upset as much as I was just a bit surprised that they were that aggressive. And as has been stated, it wasn't like Murray was still in there racking up stats. There is something to be said for allowing backups to get some playing time. I doubt anyone (coaches, players, etc) were overly annoyed by it.
