P.s. the other angle is that the sunbelt tells USA to lay down so they don't ruin Apps chances going into a bowl game.

Clements will play, but his effectiveness passing the ball is questionable. USA is one of the more schizo teams in the nation. Two years ago, ULL had won the Sun Belt title before going to Mobile in the final game and got waxed. I have no idea what to expect.

ASUTodd wrote:Talk about a trap game..... Everyone is looking past USA to the bowl game. Those guys are squarely focused on handing us our a&&es to make it to a bowl game. With the injuries, the bowl announcements, slow play of offense..... You guys better hope the defense can show up like a champ. I'm not convinced we win this one. I hope we have the best game ever, cause we are gonna need it! In all reality the game shouldn't be close but it will be. One of two outcomes. A shootout with last team with the ball winning or a one or two touchdown game. No blowout here. I just don't see where USA has given up on their season yet. A cornered animal is a dangerous one. I would love to eat my words and see a huge blowout but I think we lose focus and have to scrap for a win (best case). I won't even try to venture a score.

P.s. the other angle is that the sunbelt tells USA to lay down so they don't ruin Apps chances going into a bowl game. Imagine the crap storm the Sunbelt would have it both App and Ga South lost.

Yes, I do have a crystal ball......

I didn't see where you predicted we would lose two fumbles in the end zone that would turn a potential 38-7 lead to a 24-7 halftime lead. I didn't see this as a trap game as much as letting a team stick around long enough to make something positive happen. Ga Southern's game seemed more like a trap game to me.

Did we about lose because we let them back in the game and didn't put them away, AKA make mistakes and take them lightly? You bet.... trap game. Bout lost it......

If we had taken them lightly we wouldn't have been up 24-7 (and possibly 38). So, no, not a trap game. A trap game would be if we struggled the whole night because we were unfocused.

Hah, you sure you aren't Jcline in disguise? We did struggle with them the whole night. We got some quick strikes then had two fumbles inside the 3 yrd line, an int and then they came storming back from halftime on. We lost focus, we got down and out, we got tired, we got injured.... we got saved by the foot of Zack Matics. South Alabama came in with a game plan, saw it didn't work, we got cocky, they changed up game plans and we almost failed to make the right adjustments. Call it what you want.... we can play semantics all day long. We about lost but like a championship team, we won. See ya Dec 19th.

We beat the wheels off them in the first half. Cody Clements had a QBR of 13.1. We had 460+ yards of total offense. You were and still are wrong about it being a trap game and you're over here patting yourself on the back anyway. If you want to see a team lose a trap game take a look at GS. We took care of business in the first half with a couple of unlucky breaks by two guys trying just a little too hard to make a play for their team. They made an adjustment and it took us a quarter to find a way to contain that new QB. We made the adjustment and, even though we were beat up and injured, we rallied the troops and won the game.

I wish there was a pat on the back emoji, I would have used it.
