Luvyosef had a cramp. For us to be a 25pt underdog... I got to tell you.... we just put it to them. Their coach (lord knows I've seen this in my own family) is going sit down, pour a good stiff drink.. and think.. "How in the hell did we escape that?". Not a DAMN thing we should be ashamed of... or critical of... of our players, or coaching staff. They had those SOB's cornered.... and almost pulled it off. I mean.. flat out.. almost pulled it off... Be proud and be thankful, I like where we are as a program!

Shake it off gents.. and lets go run the table in the "Fun Belt"... we need to make it the "You need to thank GOD App State came into your conference Belt!" Too much?

That was one of the best tackles I have seen in quite a while. I mean he caught the dude in mid air and body slammed his tail. I see no reason we can't run the table. Of course anything can happen.

You guys have a good team. Like us you are going to need to get that passing game going. I hated our vanilla offense last night. No misdirection, no Hurd and Kamara in the backfield together. We got out coached and very lucky to win that one. You guys will win plenty of games. The time management at the end was definitely a head scratcher. I hope every one that traveled to Knox enjoyed their time.

I am very proud to be a Mountaineer, and extremely proud of the players, coaches and staff. Satterfield's game plan was spot on and excellently executed. App caught UT flat footed in the first half, but hung with them during their attempt at resurgence in the second. The Mountaineer's second half was gritty, hard fought and showed an courage and resolution that, if it can be maintained, gives this team a chance at 11-1.

Rubino will get better. I feel for the kid, he got tossed right into the heart of the cream orange volcano in his first college game and that is damn tough. I believe in the veterans and coaches, he's got every chance at success on this team.

It's a heartbreaking loss in the moment, to be a missed XP and/or fumble recovery away from the win, but our App State team earned some great respect on a national stage last night. They showed that the Michigan was not a fluke, and this is a real team with real abilities to hang with anyone in the country at any level.

Time to focus on ODU and blowing them off The Rock!!

I'm not much for moral victories, but I'm okay with last night. When you think about it App State went toe to toe with UT, we were more physical and our game plan almost worked. There are areas for improvement, kicking game/clock management/key penalties, but we also needed some luck and none of the three fumbles from UT bounced our way. We only gave up one big play and that was by a true freshman corner that played extremely well the rest of the game. Marcus Cox and Moore gained more yardage on the ground than Hurd and Kamara. That's two sunbelt backs behind a sunbelt line against an SEC Defense outgaining their SEC equivalent. Defense was outstanding. I'm very proud that we came to play and didn't bow down to the Volunteers. Yeah it's bitter today, because we should have won the game, but our guys shocked the crap out of me for the whole game and I am sure that Tennessee knows they were extremely lucky.

Is that common for the other coach to address the opponent at the end of the game? Guess we can take it differently. If Va Tech beats them next week will he do the same thing? Doubtful. He knows what the backlash would have been had we won. If they go 9-4 with a bowl loss he could be gone. No tolerance in them parts.

Eh, the coaching fraternity, for the most part, is a tight brotherhood. I think Butch was genuinely moved by what he saw. Bill Mallory from Indiana entered the Michigan State locker room in 1987 after his Hoosiers lost a rose bowl berth to the Spartans and gave them a rah rah speech about shutting up the, then, PAC-10. It was awesome to see the Spartans rally around him as he if were their own coach. No problem and I think Butch meant every word.
