It's going to be an awful finish to an awful season. When was the last time we lost every game in November, or 4/5/6 in a row?
Despite this disaster, I am giving coach a no strings attached pass on this season. We have no QB and a dearth of talent and depth.
I’m not sure that QB is the problem. Hard to get an accurate assessment when your OL can’t block and your receivers can’t catch.
I agree with a good OL and better DL we could probably go 8-4 this year led by a healthy Swann. But he's likely to lose a game he shouldn't as well with decision making.
Ranking the positions starting with the weakest as it stands today I'd say OL (missing three starters), DL, TE (missing Cummings), Secondary, LB, QB, WR, RB (I think RB would be fine with the line that started vs. UNCC.

I think that this is somewhat fair. I’d probably flip secondary and wr. When the dl can’t get push, the secondary is going to fold. Wr group as a whole has been a disappointment.

From an anonymous parent in the TIGMA Facebook group. Take it how you will, but it's out there.
I’m my son’s agent. We can’t afford to pay anyone to do anything. No NIL. No scholarship. Just my hard earned money and loan payments so he can be on the roster year after year. Recruited by Shawn Clark and endured the hellacious emotional year of last season. And has stayed LOYAL. He endures day in and day out just for an ounce of playing time in the game he loves. He’s been told not going to happen because he’s not on scholarship. But he can’t get on scholarship because the transfer portal takes precedence over loyalty. Kind of a catch-22 and irony I guess you’d say. And it’s a shame because after today’s game, coach REFUSED to let the players meet their families on the field still dressed out in their uniforms. Penalized them and us, keeping us from sharing that moment with one another. Yeah, it was a loss. But it was poor coaching by HC. Our sons earned the right to take pictures IN UNIFORM with their parents who support them in any and every way necessary. But I pay for that uniform. And Narcissistic Napoleon needs to stop bullying these kids and treating them like dirt. Maybe he should work on his family skills and he might have a winning team…
***Davis was bullied out as well by coaches. That’s is why Coach refuses to talk about it publicly. He doesn’t want the truth to come out. There is a huge locker room/team problem. It seems if one speaks up, questions or speaks out, you are gone. Narcissism at its finest. Definitely not App State culture or football.
I am sorry but this is the most laughable thing I’ve read in a while.
Loyalty does not equal playing time. And I promise if this walk-on was any good, they’d get a scholarship here or elsewhere.
This sounds like a delusional parent. “IM my sons agent”, LOL.

A few thoughts on season overall and game.
People need to remember that this is a 2-3 year rebuild. I am not going to hold this season against Loggains and say we need to fire him because we need to give him some time. We can't give Shawn 5 years and move on from Loggains this year. That is crazy. A few things he can do to help for next year. We need to move on from Matt in S&C. I like him but we need new blood in there. WR group has been disappointing. We need to be more consistent so we need a new WR coach I think. Loggains might want to hire an OC to make his life easier. We got to get better up front on the OL and DL.

Wasn't Swann almost sacked on the play.. not sure if could have run. Thought the outlet safety option to Larkins in the flat would have been better choice given the heat he was facing on the play.
Would need to go back and review to see if running was actually an option.
He should have made the better decision and done anything other than what he did.
Flat to Larkin. Fine.
Run himself. Fine.
Force a pass that had little chance of completion. Not fine.
I am a David Larkins fan so don’t read this wrong but that play was doomed from the point they lined up. Why is your blocking tight end lined up in the slot and running a corner route?
I bet that DB read his eyes and knew he was locked in on that particular receiver. He made a good play so credit to him. Our guy did not.
The interception was near our seats in the NEZ.
I could not see how close the D was to Swann. But I could see swann. It was a throw that should not have been made. It was basically man coverage at that point as it was wr and db. Not sure the locked in on WR matter, the wr was the DBs guy throughout the play

Both of these assessments are good.
I like our QBs.
I like our WR room. (We’re down a few guys). Drops have been an issue but we’re also throwing the ball A TON. This room is talented. Stroman went from #1 option to #4/5 in one offseason. Keep building on this young unit.
I like the DT’s
And the RB room.
Special teams has been nice as well.
TE room without Cummings, LB/OLB and DE need a complete overhaul. OL needs a piece or two.
We have some talent in the secondary but with no OLB/Edge rush they can get exposed.

I think that after this season, via either graduation or portal, we won't have Dozier, Larkin, Dubinion, or Barnes. I also don't think next year's top 2 quarterbacks are currently on the roster. We will have all unknowns, including Roberts who knows what he will be like after recovery.
I think we need to look at this season in a vacuum. Next year should be a complete turnover of the roster. By then at least we should have some idea about the recruiting chops we have on staff. But realistically, I don't see how we could have expected much if any better from any coaching staff given the talent in place.

Barnes and De Freitas can cash in.Literally.
Don’t know anything about Indiana’s kicking game, but wouldn’t be surprised to see our old pal Cignetti open up the wallet for De Freitas.
Would love to keep both though.

I will agree that our OL is a weakness based on injuries and lack of depth. Our DL wasn't doing much better prior to the 3 players being kicked off and now still does not get pressure. We lack depth, and probably talent, in the trenches. That being said, with the exception of the Boise game, I really feel that we are talented enough to have beaten every team that beat us. We haven't played that way, but we have shown that it is possible. If we don't sleepwalk through the first half last night, we win easily. Same goes with ODU, too little too late. With Coastal it was the opposite, fast start and nothing in the second half on offense and we all know how we handed Southern Miss the win. I look at us play and can't say it is a talent deficiencies as much as poor play, poor execution, lack of focus, undisciplined, questionable play calling and things of that nature. If we play focused, mistake free ball we don't lose those 4 games regardless of our apparent lack of talent. This type of play has been evident since early in the season and nothing has changed. Coaches have to make players play better and it isn't happening so far. Do we need better talent? Sure we do. Is our current talent so deficient that we can't win against peer Sun Belt teams? I don't think it is. I have yet to see a Sun Belt team beat us that I thought was a good team, but that is coming with our next game.
Going to have to disagree about us having the “talent” to have beaten the teams that beat us. In fact I think our single biggest weakness over the last 4 years, including this year, is a lack of athleticism. To put it bluntly, pretty much everybody pushes us around and runs through and over us. This season I have seen glimpses of the aggression it takes to win football games, but nothing that was sustained. That’s not to say we don’t have some quality athletes, because we do have a few and we have several guys with the will to get it done. But overall we aren’t big enough, fast enough or aggressive enough. Football is a brutal game.

I agree with pretty much all of this.
It also hit me last night that outside of a couple of guys, we rarely make a strong solo tackle. Don’t get me wrong I love a gang tackle and all 11 hats flying to the ball. But it’s almost like some of our guys aren’t strong enough and are dependent on someone coming to assist with the tackle. This also leads to so many of our missed tackles.

Yep. Gamble and McCantos both had opportunities to make a 4th down stop by themselves. Both failed.

Watching us last night and then Tulane/Memphis now is like watching a different sport.
Cannot believe how far the gap has gotten for us even in G6.

He seems solid to me. If you need long FGs you might also need an OC that makes them unnecessary.

Money has to be tight for all Sunbelt schools...but the conference needs to figure out a way to up the minimum for what the Football camera angles for ESPN+ look like. We look horrible compared to other G6 programs. Apps is especially bad. I guess no one cares enough to put money in it because they want you in the stands instead of watching from home.
I know Yosef's cabin raised money for gym equipment. Could Yosef Cabin raise money to make our broadcast angles in Basketball and Football better. Our camera needs to be on the first row of the upper deck on the East side. We should lose a few seats to make this happen. It would showcase our student section and look great from that position. I think one camera there would make a huge difference in our broadcast. Camera angles from the top of buildings (NEZ West boxes) are horrible.

Last night's game was on ESPN2. Wouldn't those be different cameras and angles than what our productions look like on ESPN+?

An OC has nothing to do as to whether our FG kicker gets an nil deal at a power school. Comment makes zero logical sense to the idea as to whether our FG kicker gets a shot or not
