JMU used the portal to the extent they did due a couple of reasons over the part several years. They moved up to FBS and have the team left the building when Cignetti went to Indiana. Given new coach came from Holy Cross, I would think he had previous relationship with the Long Island kid
I don't know what it was but I am pretty sure he did have a connection. Chesney did a great job of getting talent. They did move up but they were not getting blown out when they first moved up like we even did. They were a much better team in transition than we were while in transition and they caught up to us immediately. That is what good talent evaluation and coaching will get you.
