Re: 2014 Schedule is out
If a 12th team is added the schedule will change again so don't get too attached with the current setup.
I'd pick USA over GA St and ULM for Black Saturday but that will likely be family day.

Of course just because a team is picked this season for Black Saturday doesn't mean that can't change 2 years from now - as Saint said, the schedule could well change again if another team is added ---

Yes the schedule will change when Liberty is added to the conference.
Now I am just trying to cause trouble. I apologize and I'll stop.

Re: 2014 Schedule is out
The three games in November will be cold but I've already decided to bring a heater to tailgate with (just for the women folk of course).
It do like catching some of those warmer weather teams in November however.
Moscow Idaho is a close match, so no one should have an advantage due to weather.

Hold on there a sec there bcoach. The playoffs can't used as a reason for poor attendance. According to you and some others everyone lived for the playoffs. It was THE reason we should have stayed FCS. Bowls are meaningless games nobody cares about. But the playoffs... ahhh the playoffs... they are the only thing just, right, honorable and good with college football.bcoach wrote:It was sarcasm because playoffs was just one of the many excuses for not attending games. Now that we are FBS a whole new set of excuses is being presented. I am the last to tell anyone they need to go to games. Just tired of all the excuses.

Re: 2014 Schedule is out
Sorry that is just not true. I have never said everyone lived for the playoffs. That is NEVER as in NEVER. I have said I want to play for a national championship. I will miss that very much, and playoffs is part of that. I loved them. I never missed one. I have never said that everybody or for that matter anyone else loved them, only that I did. I never said nobody cared about bowls. I have only said I don't.Kgfish wrote:Hold on there a sec there bcoach. The playoffs can't used as a reason for poor attendance. Now back to the actual statement. Our end of season attendance should be better because we will be playing FBS quality opponents and bowls that contrary to your statement, I believe many on here are looking forward to. I just most probably will not be one of them. You never know though, as things change and one may come up that is driving distance and I would probably go if that were the case.
That was a nice try though.

Re: 2014 Schedule is out
I'm with you bcoach - I always said I really enjoyed the playoffs and a shot at winning the national championship and that I could care less about 75% of the bowl games - HOWEVER, as with you, I never said anyone who wanted to move up was an idiot (or pick your noun) ---

Right back at ya with the nice try by using semantics to avoid the question. OK. I stand corrected you didn't say everyone.bcoach wrote:Sorry that is just not true. I get that you like the playoffs, saw them all and will miss them. That's great but the my question remains unanswered. Why did you say "playoffs was just one of the many excuses for not attending games." Because I've never seen anyone write or hear anyone say the reason they didn't attend a particular game was because it was a playoff game. A number of people have questioned - since the playoffs were so important - how could attendance be lower than some regular season games. But using the playoffs specifically as an excuse for NOT making the game, never seen it.

Re: 2014 Schedule is out
It has been stated time and again that the attendance for playoffs drops off dramatically. The playoffs are no big deal. We loose in the first round. The playoffs mean nothing. Well there are no more playoffs so attendance should not drop off due to that. Our last game will be an FBS regular season game. If you have some other reason not to come that is not playoff related feel free to go with that. I will be there but I will not worry about anyone who isn't. They will just be missing a good day in Boone. Sorry this is bothering you so much.Kgfish wrote:Right back at ya with the nice try by using semantics to avoid the question. OK. Did a little football game thingy that I do at work sometimes during down time and for the '14 season, I had App finishing 8-4, 4-4. Good news: we won all Sunbelt road games, bad news, we lost the home games....but did win at Michigan. Would you take that?!

Exactly, think people might be overestimating the importance of that decision. It's not like it locks us into anything in future years. Plus, it's going to take more than people wearing black shirts to create a "new rival." If, say, Citadel had decided to make their home games with us "Blue Saturday," would any of us have suddenly considered them a rival?
Black Saturday doesn't create rivalries, it reflects them.

Re: 2014 Schedule is out
Gotcha! You don't want to answer the question. I am not bothered by this. Unless something unforeseen happens I'll be at each home game as I have for many years. Preseason (spring & fall practice), regular season or post season. I've never differentiated between any of them.bcoach wrote:It has been stated time and again that the attendance for playoffs drops off dramatically. The playoffs are no big deal. The last National Championship game in Chattanooga was beyond sold out and could have sold more if there had been room. Three play-off games are rather anti-climatic. We'll do well to have as many fans at a bowl game as we did in Chattanooga.
