I had not been that nervous for App sports in some time.

Re: 2023 Baseball Mega Thread
This season is not looking the way I expected it to look in terms of HOW we are winning. I expected to have more pitching duels and lower scoring with all the arms we brought in. Some of those arms are young though, and they seem to be showing signs of improvement. Is this wishful thinking on my part? UL is a strong team and usually has tons of sluggers. They made it nerve wracking at the end, but we held them for quite a while. The good news is that App can score and we are winning against some pretty good teams! GO Apps!

Re: 2023 Baseball Mega Thread
In looking at LaLa yesterday, they have the batting averages that seem to show they can hit and players that look the part. I cannot say for Friday as I was not able to watch. App's pitcher yesterday kept them off balance. The App pitcher threw at a variety of speeds with fastball from 89 to low mid 90s on the fastest and a curve that was in the low 80s.
Not sure who LaLa has played to get to their record. If primarily fastball pitchers, they would have had a field day.
Be great to get sweep and do well next weekend against ULM (won their first conference game yesterday). Our schedule gets more difficult with Coastal, ODU, Southern and Troy left to play if I remember the schedule accurately

Re: 2023 Baseball Mega Thread
The Sunbelt needs to mandate all Sunbelt teams mirror the Loisiana Rajun Cajuns broadcast abilities. The game looked like a top of the line broadcast....so enjoyable to watch and did not look like an amateur production. We need all of the Sunbelt games...football, basketball, baseball and softball productions to look that Profesional . So refreshing to watch the professional looking broadcast. Re: 2023 Baseball Mega Thread
The commentators should know the rules. They were homers, and that’s fine, but to question that balk call was stupid.

Ok, so maybe I don’t know the rules. I thought a pitcher could legally bluff a throw to second. Has the rule changed?

Re: 2023 Baseball Mega Thread
I agree on production. Much better than ours.
On attendance , no way 4,000 in attendance. Maybe paid tickets due season tickets holders, etc
Great for them if that is paid tickets.

Re: 2023 Baseball Mega Thread
You can't do that because there wasn't a runner at that base. I did it years ago when I first started coaching because the other team was running at will on us and that's when I learned about it.

Re: 2023 Baseball Mega Thread
I missed that particular play yesterday but yes a pitcher can bluff to 2nd if he has stepped off the rubber, if my old memory is still properly working

There wasn’t a runner on second. You can’t bluff to an unoccupied base. But no. He wheeled and bluffed. He didn’t step off the rubber.
