Will be nearly impossible to pull out a W now but if the core group today comes back next season we may show some improvement along with some transfer in and a full squad.
Not a good game to watch, truly backyard ball but hey we are all Champions of Life!
Don’t forget the #1 ranked recruiting class in the conference!
Next year is going to be better. I guarantee it.
It is nice but how much do freshman usually contribute?
For an established team, not often. But a rebuilding team needs good freshmen. And if those recruits are half as good as the ratings systems say, they’re probably better than a lot of the guys who played this year.

If we don't get an OC it will be no different.

Shawn Clark (God rest his soul) would have produced a better result than DL.
THIS year. Shawn Clark wouldn’t have had to rebuild, and App would’ve won maybe 2-3 more games. App admin rolled the dice that a new coach, after an adjustment period, could make App better.
Think of it this way, if you were a Stink fan, would you be happy with the season that Georgia Southern had this year? Because that’s probably what App would’ve done as well.

Let’s revisit this same time next year.
I disagree. Although we may have kept Joey Dimes. I do not believe we pick up some of the transfers...and our D with Sloan would have been even worse than what we have IMHO

6 is a FBS level runner.. not an FBS level passer.. just my opinion
Certainly, but Gillon is neither and our staff seems to really believe in him. Makes me question their talent evaluation.

Wilson reminds me of a smaller Lenoris Sellers. Maybe Dlo can do something with him. Not sure why he didn't earlier in season.

even with the rough game today...credit to the kids that stuck around...didnt transfer...and i'm really excited about the recruiting class we are bringing in. i really feel like next year we will be a LEGIT bowl team and by year 3 will be competing for a conference title.....if not, then DL seat will get hot.....but i think we will be fine

11 was a late recruit in the process. Let's see how the incoming freshmen QB fares in a couple of years. We will be getting a QB in portal for 26. If not, we will have a below average QB behind center.

We would have been dire.

Our QB room would have been:

Wiles, Gillon, and Wilson. Probably Estep who is at Pembroke now and couldn’t become the starter there.

I really wish I shared some of your optimism about the ability of our coaching staff. I did like the recruiting class and that impressed me, but I saw nothing during the games to give me confidence in the actual coaching abilities.

About all I can say good about today is that I saw effort from the players.

All I was really hoping for so I’m fine with it. Fun to see some young guys play too.

Considering you’ve said pretty much the same about Moore, Satt, and Drink over the years, it’s just the same sound from a one-note piano.
Hope you’re right and DL turns this ship around next season. This season’s results have been contributed to not having the horses to get the job done, by some. DL has the off season to get more of his players in. Therefore, we should definitely see some improvement next season. Stand by.

That’s just a small part of how putrid our talent evaluation had become. This was not an overnight turn. Brighter days ahead.
