Practice should never be open to anyone outside the team....period. I don't care how much money you give.
I wouldn’t go that far. There are people who need to know what’s going on at practice. There could also be opportunities for an observer to help coaches become better at their craft. Would you pay a group of people and have them forbid you from watching what they’re doing at work?
Lol. Entitled fans and donors. The game is FAR more competitive than it has ever been. Every little thing helps and every little leak hurts. Y'all can't have a winning team and one that is open for y'all to tinker around with.
“Y’all”, the only time I’ve ever been on that field for practice was when I was part of the practice. And if what you are saying, “the game is FAR more competitive than it has ever been”, is true, then our coaches should be looking for any way possible to get better. Some people who have enough money to be big donors are very smart people. Maybe those folks could help with some motivational or organizational things. There is a lot more to being a great coach than just knowing football. I just think it’s something to stay open minded about. And I’m not saying the visits should be often or intrusive.

Pro Tip - if you go into your YC profiles and set them to ignore a certain poster, it’s amazing how much shorter and more enjoyable these threads become.
