We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Us the Duo

Not sure if any of you are familiar with App Grad Michael Alvarado (Class of '10, I think), but he and his wife are headlining their first international tour as "Us the Duo" and they stopped in Charlotte last night at the music factory. Great show! At one point they pulled a random audience member on stage and when he got up there they realized he was wearing an App State shirt and Mike gave us a shout-out and told everyone to go to Boone and visit the mountains  (got a huge reaction from the crowd, and I saw lots of App gear in the line out front). They have quite a following on youtube and they've appeared on Good Morning America and the Today show. Check them out:

He is a 2010 grad. I lived across the hall from him freshmen year. He's a real nice guy and was always singing.

Check this out. My Daugherty sang with Michael in chorus at Leesville Rd High School under Diane Covington . Chorus room slap dab full of awards. Not only was Michael a product of Cov as the students called her but so was Clay Akin. I'm leaving it at that. Her daughter became chorus director at Garner High and under her tutelage came none other than Scottie McCreary. Small world or County. My daughter received partial scholarship due to her chops learned from Mrs. Covington as did many of her students. The chorus was invited to an international choral festival in London. Watching and hearing my daughter sing in West minster Abby I shall not soon forget. Michael was a good kid in high school and I always enjoyed his music and musical antics. I whish nothing but great success for he and his wife.
