Vernon (SS) makes clutch catch for the 2nd out of the inning. He's also got a 3 run bomb on the day. Pitching change for App.

Ump being generous with Gamecocks strike zone. Hitters gotta adapt to the 4-6 inches off the plate being called.

Ump takes foul ball off the chin. Maybe that'll adjust his zone

Cocks strike out the side...6-4 bottom of 8

This team looks solid, love the effort they play with. With that said from what I have seen today our pitching staff is what's going to hold this back. I can see these guys in the upper half of the conference because they are going to score runs, either way I am excited for the Kermit era to really take off!

Probably wraps this one up. App with pitching change after giving up 2 RBI single to Gamecocks. Now down 8-4 with 1 out in bottom of 8

Our pitching, especially starting, has been our biggest asset so far this season. Midweek games arent the best to judge a staff by, and we're going against the #4 team tonight.

I was particularly referring to the bullpen. I felt like Hampton was left in an inning to long but after seeing how the rest of the game played out it appears there isn't much depth behind the starters. Again I love the way the guys played today and the final score wasn't indicative of the game as a whole. If we can shore up the pen then I honestly believe our guys can make some serious noise.

Not a bad showing. Young relief pitching just needs confidence.

The several of the relief pitchers we used last night aren't our top arms from the pen either. Lets see how we do this weekend against several good teams before drawing any conclusions.

Fair enough, I was just commenting on what I saw last night. I also don't want my comments to be construed as negatives against our team. I am beside myself with excitement for this squad and I honestly think they are going to turn heads this year. Go Apps!

Let's not forget that this was our 4th game in 5 days so, the bullpen was already depleted.
