Re: Baseball @ Louisana
Huge win. Left several runners on base with the opportunity to tie and take the lead, but we finally managed the necessary runs. Great job.
I would not want to pitch in that place. You can see everything behind home plate, straight into the concession stand and you can see everything they're eating, plus the non stop traffic in the concourse running behind the 2 rows of seats. It has to screw up your focus if you don't pitch there on a regular basis.

I went to bed when it was 1-3, long day. Then after waking at 6AM, getting a cup of coffee, I logged on to find a pleasant surprise. Outstanding job, no doubt this team has improved a lot!

Any guess why Cornatzer only faced one batter. I am sure it was situational and only to set up Bowman. Just thought they would have gotten more out of him.

Just took a 6-5 lead in the top ninth on a two-run hit.
Game is past the curfew (gotta catch that flight) so the ninth is the last inning no matter what.

Never hurts to win a series against UL. They have a ton of injuries but a win is a win.

Re: Baseball @ Louisana
The Apps had me nervous but held the Cajuns off. I was nervous when UL got runners on first and third in the 9th. I was afraid we would wind up regretting having left the bases loaded in the 8th.
At the end of the day, it's a GREAT game and series win over an excellent program (even if it's not their best season). Keep it going Apps!

Re: Baseball @ Louisana
Odd that some of us have to qualify our win by saying the Cajuns are “not having their best season.” Louisiana is plenty good enough (going into today’s finale ranked 114 in the country out of 299 teams). This is a good road series win no matter how you slice it.

Any conference series win is a good series win. Standings aren't based on weather, injuries, or any factor other than the final scores of the games. Way to take the road series, guys!

Yep. We were short two of our better players last week, but I doubt GSU cared much.AppGrad78 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 24, 2019 2:38 pmOdd that some of us have to qualify our win by saying the Cajuns are “not having their best season.” Louisiana is plenty good enough (going into today’s finale ranked 114 in the country out of 299 teams). Had to work my part-time job today. When I got home it was great to see that App had won the series against Louisiana, something unheard of the past few seasons. Great Job!!

Re: Baseball @ Louisana
Sorry if I offended with any "qualification." The point was simply that two years ago Louisiana was a top 10 team in the country. This year they are just below .500. Yes, it's an excellent win. They have tons of talent and any win in the conference is a good win. Believe me I am as happy about this win as anybody on the board.AppGrad78 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 24, 2019 2:38 pmOdd that some of us have to qualify our win by saying the Cajuns are “not having their best season.” Louisiana is plenty good enough (going into today’s finale ranked 114 in the country out of 299 teams). I am not going as far as you are in explaining my qualification about the injuries. I guess I am not as happy about this win as anyone else on the board.Yosef84 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 24, 2019 4:15 pmSorry if I offended with any "qualification."
