Sorry to be a pessimist. If this game is during rivalry week along with all the other P5 rival games, this will only be viewed on ESPN+. This would take us out of national spotlight. There are typically only one or two college games on Thursday night. If we were in a better G5 conference, say AAC, and played the team from the East in Greenville. We would have a shot at TV. Being a lesser G5 conference, App St/Ga. Southern would not get televised cable channels. Sad to say it..it is what it is..I have been on Thursday in Boone last few times game played in Boone. Loved it even with bad or cold weather.

Concur. Rival week Saturday it should always be.

Also believe all our conference games should be on Saturday, since we are playing WF on Friday night.

Let MAC and CUSA play the mid week games.

October on ESPNU on a Saturday should be doable now that the MWC has mostly moved to Fox. You'd get 30,000 people in Boone and 25,000 in Statesboro. If they mic the stadium properly it will be a big time atmosphere for television and good for butts in the seats.

I too would love it on a Saturday in October. Having it on a “so called” rivalry weekend after Thanksgiving does nothing to help this game draw it’s maximum crowd. Students are on break, people are traveling, weather is iffy. You’ll end up with the same # as if it were on Thursday.
This game was made for the 2nd or 3rd Saturday in October.

Would love this game to be on Saturday, simply because you need a full week to prepare for their offense. Tough to prepare on a short week. The crowd would be bigger also.

However, letting CUSA and the MAC play the midweek games while our conference plays the weekend is not a good idea in my opinion. The midweek games are the only certain games on national TV. You dont want to give those up to the other conferences when you are trying to gain exposure for ours.

App played South Alabama and Georgia State on a Saturday on ESPNU. Surely they can move App and Georgia Southern to Saturday and get an ESPNU commitment in preseason.

Playing GS on Rivalry week makes sense on the surface, but playing them during the Thanksgiving break while students are off campus would probably not give us the lift we are hoping for.

The #18 team in the country should not have to play any games on a short week. Already don’t like WF on Friday.
