With Newman gone where does Wake turn for a QB

As you'll read, Wake is losing more than just Newman...

I was really hoping that they keep most of these guys and enter next year looking strong. We hope to be a top 20 team next year and a top 20 team should be able to handle a team that was returning as much as they were suppose to be. I would love nothing more than to beat Wake Forest at their place on a year they are competing for a division title.

They still have Surratt, and I liken Hartman to Sam Howell. He can make all of the throws, but he lacks composure and is a bit loose with the ball. If we can limit Surratt, we ought to be fine.

He's not Newman but he's more than capable. I wouldn't start celebrating yet.

Don’t let Howell’s game against us skew your view; he threw 38 TDs and only 7 INTs for the season.

He doesn’t lack composure, we just played really good defense.

To be clear, it wasn’t a shot at Howell, I was actually complementing Howell and saying that Hartman lacks composure and is loose with the ball. I was referring to the way they both have the arms to throw all of the variety of passes. Sorry for the confusion.

Hartman is dangerous, but if you get after him early, you can force him into making poor decisions. There is a reason why Newman secured the job over him.

Weird situation here. Newman secured the job but is vacating the position. Maybe one of the better programs that is losing their plug and play QB has put a bug in his ear. Could it be as simple as needing another school for a grad program that Wake doesn’t offer??

It’ll be plenty tough to pull out a win ,whoever suits up , but I like our chances.

A Wake fan relative of mine, speculated that Newman was always getting hurt and probably wants to play behind a better OL since Wake is losing 3 OL starters. Newman thinks one of the elite programs might pick him up...
