RIP: Former Mountaineer Carmon Kilby

Unread post by asu66 » Mon Dec 30, 2013 11:01 pm

Condolences are in order for the family and friends of former Mountaineer lineman Carmon Kilby of Millers Creek. Carmon was killed in a tragic highway crash on Dec. 18th.

Carmon played in the 60's for Coach Jim Duncan; graduated and returned to his Wilkes County roots and began what would be a highly successful 35 year teaching and coaching career. After retirement, Carmon assumed the leadership and management role of his family's cattle brokerage business from his dad.

All the while, if there were neighbors in need or community work to be done, Carmon would be the first to help and the last to quit. He was tireless in that regard. His life was a life well lived and an example to emulate. Rest in peace, Carmon.
