This is an excerpt from a Charlotte Observer article: "Ten teams won’t have regular-season games in the Sun Belt and will compete in a conference meet only."
Does anyone know which sports this will include?

Golf, tennis, cross country, track and field would likely be on that list.NewApp wrote:This is an excerpt from a Charlotte Observer article: "Ten teams won’t have regular-season games in the Sun Belt and will compete in a conference meet only."

Re: No Regular Season Games
The "individual" sports that compete in meets or open tournament formats where many schools send teams to the same event is indeed what it is referencing. Some of those sports have their schedules posted to appstatesports and they do not go to SunBelt schools until the conference championships. Until I saw that article and looked into it on the website, I had never given much thought to the golf teams' schedule. For example, the golf team plays at Invitationals in Cleveland, Morganton, Kiawah Island, and outside Columbia, while cross country team hosts an event and travels to meets at Gardner-Webb, in Rock Hill, and Spartenburg.

To get to 10 sports it would inclue
MXC
WXC
MITF
WITF
MOTF
WOTF
MGOLF
WGOLF
which is the same at the SoCon for the longest time. It looks like the SB does the same with MTennis and WTennis. The SoCon did have regular season meets with Tennis. I have no idea how they pair for the Tennis tourney - draw lots? Tennis is done as a team advancing it seems. If we don't play the SB schools I wonder who we play for a regualr season warmup to the tourny?

Re: No Regular Season Games
My guess is that is like track, provided that they meet the quals, each team can enter (this is based on high school knowledge but is similar) there top 3 in each event. I would guess that each team gets to send 2 - 3 of the top singles and doubles to the match/meet/pong with a min # of wins or matches played.McLeansvilleAppFan wrote:To get to 10 sports it would inclue

That's what I do. I gripe and I know things.
