This week I was at the North Davidson - Ledford game. These are the home schools for our household so I'm a bit biased here. First, let's talk Shy Tuttle from ND, 2015, 6'3" 315, DT. #1 Recruit in NC, #4 DT, #26 overall. Not one of our recruits, but has been offered by just about every ACC, SEC, Big 10 school out there. Massive and agile. Tends to play too upright and gets blocked by smaller linemen, but flings them aside when he sees the ball. Strong! Will have to work on form at the next level but a true athlete at his size. Could be,probably will be, dominant with college coaching and conditioning. Ran for a TD in a goal line situation as well.
Now, our guys. Khylil Miller, ND, 2015, 6-2, 170, CB/WR. Smooth athlete. More fast than quick, long strides. Good hands, natural player. IMHO, would be a better WR than DB because he, like most HS kids that are better than most others, has a tendency to rely on his athleticism and doesn't get in his backpedal, plays very upright, and his hips are not fluid. However, when the ball is in his hands, fluid is the word that keeps coming to mind. Will have to get some energy and coaching at the next level, but ability is there. If the work ethic is there, then he could be a nice addition.
Garret Hooker, Ledford, 2016, 6-2, 230, MLB. Wow. Not the fastest, but always seems to get in the right position. HARD hitter. Loves contact and very physical. Energy is NOT a problem here. Needs to keep his cool a little better (had at least 1 deadball 15 yarder) and needs to work on wrapping up and not just hitting. Still young. Good form and positioning. Usual things to learn at this point in his career (angles, cleaner tackles, keeping his hips under him) but a natural MLB. Finds the ball well. Why haven't we offered?

A couple of other possible college players that stood out: ND - Kennedy McKoy, 2016, 6-0, 175, RB. speed and cuts very well, finds a hole and goes! Charlotte and NC State offers. Had 152 yards on 19 carries. Ledford - Dalton Harris, 2015, 5'10", 170, RB. VERY biased here as I coached him very early on. Natural football player. Good speed, cuts very well and finds a hole. Deceptively strong. Will be playing on Saturdays somewhere next year. Great addition to any team, will do whatever is asked. Had 80 yards on 28 carries and a TD. McAllistar Ingram, 2017, 6-0, 180, FS. Coming out party this year. Crushing hitter, good speed, all over the field. Will be a good recruit as he learns the game.
Let's hear from the rest of you.
