I just saw it posted at -7

Georgia State had no answer for Georgia Southern's triple option and got blown out by Arkansas State but played close South Alabama, Louisiana Lafayette and New Mexico State (All three were by a field goal). Louisiana Lafayette and South Alabama were both away games. Georgia State has really played better on the road than they have at home.

Interesting note: their only win was at home to Abilene Christian at the beginning of the season by one point who later knocked off Troy.

App State is traditionally weak following a bye. There is good reason to think they will play us close. If I was to put money on it I would take Georgia State with the spread and App State for the win.

Where did you look? I use VegasInsider.com. The opening line was 5.5 and it has since been bet up to 7. I would not touch this game. I did look at the line for Ga South and it was up from opening @ 20 to 23. That is a big number but I would be more inclined to put money on Southern.

After watching the GSU^2 matchup this past week I really hope we can get to their QB. Ga state was a sieve on defense but our pass d has been very suspect. I see the potential of a lot of 3rd and long conversions for them which can be so frustrating to watch. Luckily, I think we can score on them a lot. Possible track meet with a score similar to Liberty's but with us on top is what I predict. Go Apps!

Really? Their QB is one of the best (if not THE best) in the conference. Is everyone confident in our pass rush and secondary? I expect a shootout just like the Liberty game.

I too think the line is too high. The problem with Ga St is they have no balance on offense. Yes, Arbuckle is the best QB in the league but even so, they still have one win this year. Should be a good test for our secondary.

If we can keep constant pressure on Arbuckle we win hands down. They can't run the ball.

If we give him time, he will eat our secondary alive.

Getting pressure is key for sure. Their OL is bigger than Troy but I don't know how quick they are.

what is the over/under for GS QB pass attempts? Will it be over 50? We will most certainly test our depth on defense. I would expect a big dose of short, quick passes and several third and longs. If we can limit the first downs made on those plays and cut out the stupid penalties this game should be Troy-javu (pardon my attempt at a joke).

I think that Ga State is a completely different animal than Troy. The scheme we employed against Troy is likely different than what we need to stop Ga State. Troy lives on the variety of screens and short passes. Easier for your DBs to play tighter coverage. Ga State will go long and we haven't exactly been stellar in that category. If we don't find a way to put pressure on Arbuckle he will certainly connect on some big plays. He likely will anyway. We have to minimize the big play.

Will we see the Ga State team that lost to ULL by 3 or the one that lost by 40 to Ark State (not to mention last weeks game)?

Is there a stranger horrible team in the country this year? Blown out or within a field goal? You can't take them lightly or you take a really bad loss to a really bad team. If you play your "A" game you blow them out. App by 10.

Their best shot at winning will be flinging the ball. The weather could hamper that, but it won't deter them. Arbuckle is a good passing QB so we'll have to get takeaways from Ross, Gibbs, Blackmon, etc.

their qb is good, will probably throw over 40 passes, to me the key is mixing up our defensive schemes, if we show the same scheme over and over, he will pick us apart, got to show different blitz packages, disguise our coverages, and take some chances. The good news is their defense is awful, especially against the run, would love to see us run 5o times, eat up the clock, and keep their offense on the sideline.

I do hope we can control the clock and keep Arbuckle on the sideline a much as possible. The GSU OL is big, but doesn't appear to be too quick. Team speed should favor App even though we aren't what we once were in that area. That being said, Ga Southern wasn't getting a ton of pressure on Arbuckle, so I hope Woody has been analyzing that film and figuring out something that will work.

If we execute like we did aginst Troy, I think we win, but it could get interesting. Both teams have had consistency issues, so this game could hard to predict, but I think most likely scenarios favor App. Yes, I'm Homer an proud of it!
