Offseason of Change in the Sun Belt?

Now that we move ahead to the offseason, there is a very real chance that we see significant changes in the Sun Belt.

Offer JMU cash that they cannot refuse and let's get it done. Go App!

JMU is my first choice as well BUT JMU isn't deserving of anything more than has been offered.

They view CUSA and the MAC as better options, but if those conferences expand they will not look their way. Let them lag behind a couple more years and their fanbase grow tired of the CAA.

Indeed JMU's leadership suffers from acute Charlie Cobb syndrome. From what I've observed their fans are fed up and would love to join the Belt. I feel bad for them, honestly.

I understand why JMU wants into CUSA or MAC from a financial and footprint perspective. Heck, we were the same way a few years ago, even going as far as to hearing Charlie publicly bash the Sun Belt. Yet here we are today.

I firmly believe that there has to be a first step to reach your goal. No, I don't believe App will always be a member of the Sun Belt, but I believe we'll be here for some time. On that note, I don't see JMU skipping to the front of the line when another conference, such as MAC or CUSA, come calling. With schools like stAte, ULL, Texas State, GaSo, and even App, ripe for the taking, I don't foresee a conference passing them over for a school that would not add much success and has to go through the transition we just completed.

While I think much of JMU, I think they will remain in CAA for the foreseeable future if they don't take the plunge and head for the warmer grounds of the Sun Belt. They have a few delusional fans who think the AAC wants them, which is comical, but I do hope to see them in the Sun Belt soon.
