Slow in the middle, no post presence on either end. Our Biggs need to defend and rebound a whole lot better

Re: Furman @ App State
no excuses tonight, guys didn't play well and were lost defensively. That's what happens when you have to play freshman a lot of minutes. Still rebuilding a roster.

Met up with YesAppCan and made the three hour trip to watch the team in person. Worse than anything I saw last year. Very little to get excited about. Fox has his work cut out for himself.

Just like last year it's painfully obvious that we're terrible. You see good coaching and mid-game adjustments, but the players just aren't very good at basketball. Coach K couldn't get these kids to .500 this year.

What's up with the starting lineup burgess eaves shabazz Kenny obacha? I think that's correct. I didn't watch the game but my 63 year old father said it was the worst he had ever seen.

It was by no means Capel bad. Was the 1st I have watched in a while. Listened to most games last year. What I saw was the team appeared to be a step slow and almost lackadaisical. To put another way as a buddy of mine from college used to say, we were missing the "hustle stats."mountaineerman wrote:What's up with the starting lineup burgess eaves shabazz Kenny obacha? In the post game fox was none too pleased. I have faith he will get that corrected.

Three seniors among that group. Shabazz at this point is going to have to play through it. Once his offense picks up, believe his defense will as well. As far as the post play, we are limited. When you are so one-dimensional it kills you. Furman had zero reason to respect the lane so they chased our shooters around the perimeter all night.mountaineerman wrote:What's up with the starting lineup burgess eaves shabazz Kenny obacha? Watched the 2nd half last night and it wasn't pretty. App has little inside game and if they don't hit jumpers they don't score. Gotta give Furple credit that every time App pulled close it seemed they would hit a 3. Disappointing loss.

Re: Furman @ App State
Chris has had two good games to start the year. He hustles and plays within himself something Frank Eaves needs to do. He has the talent to be shooting better than 4-25 on the year to date. He's got to play with more discipline and control. I shudder to think what will happen to this team when we face a team with some real size in the paint.YesAppCan wrote:I agree with what hapapp said and only add, Burgess is the bright spot.
It is early and hope the young faces begin to adapt and we can see some performances like we did in the second half of the season last year. We do have to give Fox some time to recruit the kind of talent he needs for his system.

Re: Furman @ App State
Well we lost to Furman by 20-something last year, and we obviously improved after that. My goal for this year is to be above .500. Bad loss last night, but let's not overreact after game two.
