I don't do this often but my daughter graduates this May and she just found out she was accepted to both vet schools she applied to (UTK and NCSU). She will join the Pack next August but will always be a Mountaineer first and her dream is to return to Boone and work in the emergency clinic on 105 where she has been working as a student. I have to say I am really proud of her but also so impressed with App. Vet school is really competitive so this is as much abouth the resume App helped her build as her hard work. Everyone has the grades but the opportunities she had a App have been exceptional - International vet clinic experience for a Summer in India, independant research that she presented at vet conferences, work experience in Boone and professors that actually know her and can write meaningful recommendation letters. I won't go on any more but if any of you know a kid that wants to come to App but feels pressure to attend a " bigger" school because of the opportunities make sure they know App takes care of their kids plenty well.

Congratulations. Vet school is very competitive. Good to see a Mountaineer succeed.

Congrats to your daughter Appbio91! I too have a daughter graduating in May and couldn't be prouder. While she is not graduating from App she did come home to Boone to take OChem and plant physiology one summer so at least App is on her transcript.

Smart kid to take Organic in a Summer session. That is a class that separates the weak from the survivors. Congrats to you as well.proasu89 wrote:Congrats to your daughter Appbio91!
