Re: Blair and Middleton ---
I hope Blair is around when the Falcons draft in the 3rd round. He could be the OLB they need that could also put his hand in the dirt on passing downs and get after the passer.

JMO but I think he's a DL. I don't think putting him at OLB would give him the best chance to succeed.

Re: Blair and Middleton ---
I'm sure that Blair could drop to 250lbs but that would not give him the speed to play OLB in the NFL. I think his best shot is DE. Hope he sets the league on fire.

Re: Blair and Middleton ---
I think Blair will do well in the NFL. Most of the criticisms I have seen on him (Minus height) are very teachable; like overshooting the rusher. His real assets are his speed and that he is strong as an ox. I think with this size he could bull rush any lineman and push them back. Hopefully he winds up on a good team .

One more thing, let's not forget all of our players this year are very well spoken, humble and great ambassadors for app State.

So do we think Blair goes today? If so, where? I've seen stuff about him from the Cowboys, steelers, lions and raiders.

Would hope he goes in 3rd round. Would love to see him with the cowboys. Could get another App/Cowboys Jersey to follow up my Coakley one.
Re: Blair and Middleton ---
from the little I have read, the Lions seem to be really interested, seems he would be a great fit for what the defensive coordinator likes to do, he is definitely a value pick, probably a second or third round talent, that probably will go in the 4th or 5th round. Hopefully someone who has targeted him in the late rounds, will maybe panic, and take him in the third.

Re: Blair and Middleton ---
Also, seems like Middleton is getting some late round attention with most site praising his size/speed for NFL safety. Most say he'd be avaluable special teamed while he is coached up. Have seen mention of him on steelers boards.

Re: Blair and Middleton ---
Yea I thought it was a stretch to see Blair go in the third round. Thought maybe a 10% chance in 3rd, 60% in 4th, 20% in 5th and 10%in 6th. If he was two inches taller he would have gone today. I think when he gets into camp he'll be more athletic than the team thinks. I think unless he gets injured, he's a lock to make the 53 man roster. I also think the same for Middleton. He may not get drafted but will surprise the team that signs him. Again another very athletic athlete...

Re: Blair and Middleton ---
Hope to see both of our guys go soon. On a separate note interesting pick by the Panthers in the second round taking the corner from Samford. Anybody got the skinny on this SOCON guy? I believe I heard that this makes the second straight year that a DB from Samford was taken early in the draft. They must be doing something right down there. Hoping that the trend of taking DB's by the Panthers from FCS programs continues to work.

Re: Blair and Middleton ---
Saturday morning from cbsports.com
The first three rounds are complete and 98 players have been drafted in the 2016 NFL Draft. However plenty of talented prospects remain on the board.
Here is a look at the top 30 players still available in the 2016 class.
1. Andrew Billings, DT, Baylor (6-1, 310, 5.04, Jr.)
Billings, who was a record-setting weight-lifter in high school, flashes dominant qualities when he keeps his pad level low, rolls his hips and pushes his momentum into the pocket. As the technique and discipline catch up, Billings should continue to get better. There is something going on, possibly an unknown injury, for him to fall this far in the draft.
2. Hassan Ridgeway, DT, Texas (6-3, 303, 5.02, RJr.)
Ridgeway displays an impressive skill-set with his power, athleticism and instincts, detaching himself from blocks and quickly finding the ball. He needs technique and conditioning work, but if he stays healthy, Ridgeway is a starting two-down one-technique in a 4-3 base.
3. Ronald Blair, DE, Appalachian State (6-2, 284, 5.15, RSr.)
Although his combine numbers don't accurately reflect his impressive tape, Blair deserved to be in the second-round discussion. He plays with violent hands and aggressive pass rush moves to rip through blockers, showing the effort to finish in the pocket.
