Lets Do This Thing!

Unread post by PikesPeakPoke » Sun Aug 28, 2016 8:45 pm

Okay, AppNation, I've recently had the honor of breaking bread, sharing suds and watching a little Colorado Rockie baseball with one of your finest representatives and his wonderful family (you know I'm convinced that App74 is a direct descendent of Yosef). We discussed that Vegas has tagged the Mountaineers as 20-22 point dogs, and the "whys" and "why nots" that may have led to such a spread. However, despite App74's cautious attitude about the game, I've been doing my homework and I think y'all can go into Knoxville and put a surprise on that bunch of Volunteers!

It's likely not common knowledge, but the 2008 UW Pokes, with a 3-6 record to that point, went into Neyland Stadium, before 99,489 screaming Tennessee fans and handed Phillip Fullmer and the Volunteers a 13-7 defeat. Many folks say that's the game that ended Fullmer's career at UT. But the Pokes did it and y'all can too!

My point is; you take the combined mojo of the Mountaineers faithful and some added vibes from us App State supporting Poke fana and I think Thursday is a black day for UT and a step forward for my friends in Boone.

GIVE EM HELL MOUNTAINEERS!! I'M WITH YOU!

Listen here Cowboy, any "caution" you sense in my approach to this game is instead a thinly veiled optimism that will break loose when I hit that stadium. Aside from that, there is nothing more encouraging than to have a fan of a visiting team become one of your own as I, in like manner, have become a Cowboy. Such is akin to the App-Montana relationship.

Watch Z14 closely.....going to give you a high five!
