Kudos to all those who journeyed to Knoxville
Although the end result still hurts, I am very proud to have been there to cheer on the black and gold. It's difficult to make a difference when 95,000 are against you, but the sections of Mountaineer faithful sure had a lot fun right until the very end. Our group had a blast before, during and after the game - still stings by what almost happened, but lots of pride in all of our loyal supporters for making a difference on the road. Let's keep it going at home Saturday !

My crew was there---we even took our kids out of school to make the trip with us! Bad Parents probably I know--but our kids love some APP State football. I thought that our fans traveled well especially considering the shift to Thursday night. No one in my section sat down a minute the entire game. We were loud and proud. So proud of our guys. D was awesome. OLine did a great job as well. Law, Boggs, Stringer and Gilchrist were just spectacular. We have a great deal to be proud of and I am looking forward to Saturday in Boone.

I was sitting across from the App section and they were making a lot of noise. There were several times when the Vol band stopped playing you could hear an ASU! chant or an App - State cheer. Agree that we as fans must do our part this weekend to keep the momentum going.

While listening to the pregame, I heard, what I assume, was the UT band playing Yikas (which I'd love if our band played our opponent's fight song in pregame - classy move for those who do it, even though that means one day our band will have to play Sons of Marshall
). Anyway, when they got to "Go Apps!" It sounded like the game was in KBS.

Made the 8 hour trip to Knoxville from Wilmington to support our team. I yelled so loud for so long, that my voice still isn't back to 100%. Need to get it rested up before the Miami game. Yeah, we commented on the Tennessee band playing Yikas, too. We were torn on whether this was condescending or not. I mean, do they do the same thing when Florida or Alabama comes to town? Oh well, that's behind us. Beat ODU!

Great trip. Wish we had pulled it off. I was surprised at the shabby condition of Neyland Stadium infrastructure. Rusted steel, dark smelly corridors, small outdated bathrooms and inadequate concessions. I know it's an old facility, but for a multi million dollar SEC program I was expecting a little more.

The Pride of the Southland band plays the fight song for every opposing team at every game. Our niece is a freshman in UT's band and commented on having to memorize App's fight song for the game. Pretty classy move by the Vols if you ask me.aerotight31 wrote:Made the 8 hour trip to Knoxville from Wilmington to support our team. Well, if that is the case, then I applaud them for doing that. Pretty cool!DaphneUrquhart wrote:The Pride of the Southland band plays the fight song for every opposing team at every game.
