Re: Eastern NC BBQ

Lexington bbq is overrated. Yes I said it. I still eat it. I don't think it's bad. I like it.....but it's still overrated. It lives on it's name. Like others, ill eat any Q. When I was younger I much preferred western. As I grew into adulthood I started liking eastern more, sometimes with a bite. L...

Re: Title IX Lawsuits

I still believe in the long run football will separate from the schools becoming their own entities. Athletes could be students if they chose to or just play football. The teams would pay a fee for using the schools NIL and facilities. This would circumnavigate title IX and allow the schools to stil...

Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread

I've seen low tier minor league teams that would lose to that LSU pitching line up. Beach Chickens had a good run. Look at that. I even capitalized both words in their name out of respect for the work they put in.

Re: NIL and future of NCAACF

For this asking about the money. We more of less break even. Our revenue and expenditures tend to be within 200k of each other in any given year. So to find money to pay plays they would have to subtract from something currently in the budget.

Re: NIL and future of NCAACF

I have always been fine for athletes to be able to be paid for legit side gigs like any other student on campus. You go film and advertisement for peabodies? Great get paid. You go shake hands and kiss babies at events, heck yea get paid. You want sign some autographs, heck yea get paid. The problem...

Re: NIL and future of NCAACF

Yup, just wild. NIL made it a semi pro league because the entities themselves weren't paying the players. Now I have to say that college is officially a professional league. It says that these payments are on top of scholarships and other benefits. I believe it is time to do away with football and b...

Re: Help identifying vintage of an App State glass

Google says that one is likely 1970s but might be 1980s. App State stuff in general doesn't hold a lot of value as we don't have a large bandwagon fanbase like the blue bloods. It's only value would be to fellow alumni so whatever you think you can get.

How many former App players have had nice runs in the pros but didn’t really get conference accolades while in Boone? Seems like quite a few weren’t really considered great in college but had good careers in the NFL

Ncaa football 26 App made the game cover

Eagle eye alumni caught this. We've had a rough time the last two years but our national brand is alive and well. Credit to catawba alum for posting it. https://www.facebook.com/100064515589780/posts/1116245503869292/?mibextid=rS40aB7S9Ucbxw6v Here is a link to a story as the Facebook post doesn't s...

Re: NIL and future of NCAACF

Developing a true minor league system for the NFL would alleviate a lot of these issues. The NBA has the G league with 31 teams. MLB has its whole system. It's time for the NFL to have one. Let the high school seniors choose to go to the minors instead of going to college. Those that want to play co...

Re: NIL and future of NCAACF

Some of the issues could be alleviated with multi year contracts. Make them with a very large buyout if player wants to transfer so developing school gets some renumeration for time spent developing player. Does not solve all issues and sure it could be potentially challenged. But, try something an...

Re: Almost time

Possibly. I saw on Twitter that yesterday marked 100 days until the first college games in general and then looked up how many for App and it was 105 at the time. I'm ready for GAS to start the hype train to pull us out of the doom and gloom off season on this board.

Compete for and win the conference on a regular basis, against peers that have the same advantages and limitations we do. I agree. This is the same drum I've been beating for a few years now with all the changes. Just win the conference. Nothing else matters more than that. Everything else is a dis...
