Re: SC to allow college ath. to make money

Whenever I hear or read about any suggestions involving paying “players” or “student athletes “ I am baffled. Those who predict the greater divide between the 10 or so big programs and the rest are spot on. We are almost there already without a formal NI&L deal. While athletics has long provided a ...

Re: Biography: WWE Legends

Macho man, Rey Mysterio, Raven, Sting, Kane, Undertaker we my favorites. Some entertaining ones in the 90's were Disco Inferno, The Cat, The Steiner Brothers, D Gen C, The Hart family, Stone Cold. I actually wasn't a huge fan of the Hulk, Rock, The Giant, Lex Lugar, Goldberg, or Mick Foley. My first...

Re: Shemar Jean Charles drafted in 5th round

"Pre-Draft Analysis Jean-Charles is a smaller corner with shorter arms and average top-end speed. He does a good job of reading routes, breaking on the ball and breaking up passes in off coverage. -- Steve Muench" Arm length seemed to be one of the focal points this year. I've seen it highlighted on...

"I live about 5 minutes from the house. It has really caused a stir here. From what I understand the cops were notified that both parents didn't show up for work, and they went out for a wellness check. Upon arrival, they saw the parents vehicles and proceeded to the house. As soon as they went to t...

Re: Rivals Past/Present/Future

I'd rather have 1-2 teams as rivals. If you get anymore than that then you have to question what you are really calling a rivalry. I've never considered WCU a rival. App dominated them. That isn't a rivalry. Just googling the record we are 59-18-1 against WCU and 30-7 after the "jug" trophy was crea...

Re: Spier out at Western

I haven't dug in to it, but I do wonder what the NC promise program is doing to their sports program. I'm not sure if the lower tuition is also affecting the student fees in other ways that may have been draining the program worse than normal these last few years. He had a solid run at a career maki...

Re: Roy Williams Retiring

Good for him. I'm not a UNC fan but he needed to retire for his health. He had no reason to hang on. No records to be broken. He made his money and created a 33 year legacy. I figure he will show back up in a year or so in a front office type of position.

Re: Article: App State Twitter Divide

I just caution everyone here who constantly (and I mean CONSTANTLY) makes App fandom all about who’s donating the most money to prove it. Yes, money helps. But others contribute in other ways...emotional investment (and how that investment manifests itself) is extremely important too. Writing a che...

Re: Article: App State Twitter Divide

I guess when I donate to the various organizations (some private, some public) that I donate money to I don't really ask them "whats in it for me?" I just do it to help other people. Everything in life doesn't have to be transactional. Sometimes as people we just give. These days I rarely make it t...

Re: Article: App State Twitter Divide

Why should I just GIVE them money with nothing in return? So that others in the future can have similar if not better experiences than you. Its called thinking beyond yourself. But if you are the only thing that matters to you then yes you should look for things that give you perks. I also give to ...
