Re: Portal vs Grad rate for athletes
Is the portal (and NIL) the main reason our athlete grad rate is relatively low? I know our athletes are at least as intelligent as our rivals. 80 out of 1600 athletes. Or 80 out of approx. 4000 total grads. Is the graduation rate low, or is it just a small number of graduates? That is a very signi...

Re: NC State series in danger?
If this comes to fruition, we should sue NC State. We have a signed contract and then they go and contract with another school to play on the same date, it is a classic breach and we should enforce our rights. I am really tired of watching all these chicken #$%$ schools finding ways to back out of ...

At least it was less than a year off. Here's hoping he stayed in good physical condition during this interim.mountainman33 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 01, 2023 3:21 pmThat's extremely sad to hear. I hope he gets to play again. Doesn't really seem like his character.

Re: Is it time to rethink the sports we offer ?
Just noticed in an email from the interim chancellor's office that we only had 80 student athlete graduates this term. Is that a small number for 16 sports and overall 4100 graduates? As to Wrestling, I think WataugaMan would likely disagree with minimizing the impact of our wrestling program in the...

Re: Is it time to rethink the sports we offer ?
IF funds were to be reinvested in other programs baseball might be one to look at closely. We play in a marquee conference and there is a ton of interest in college baseball. Not sure how additional funds would really make a difference but in my opinion we aren't very far off from becoming a progra...

Cade Klubnik is not that dude. He may develop into that dude with another off season but he struggled mightily at times in 2023. I feel as good going into this game as I did about A&M, Penn State and Miami. There’s a very real unease in Clemson’s fan base and a big loss to Georgia to open the seaso...

Interesting Anecdote Re: Wilt Chamberlain
One Globetrotter skit involved Captain Meadowlark Lemon collapsing to the ground; instead of helping him up, Chamberlain threw him several feet into the air and caught him like a doll. Lemon, who at that time weighed 210 lb (95 kg), later said Chamberlain was "the strongest athlete who ever lived".[...

So uncc gets $25MM taxpayer money to expand a stadium they can’t even fill up with no strings attached but we can’t issue debt for an indoor facility we need. Unbelievable. UNC-C...
