Gone With The Wind was playing in theaters the last time the Heels beat App in football.

Re: College football- interesting
I agree with the NIL, but not in its current state. There should have to legit be a business plan for each athlete showing how it will generate an ROI and it should have to be approved by someone. This is mostly off topic, but relates to NIL. My youngest daughter recently bought a pair of Erin Mats...

Re: 50 years of WASU
I did a local/NC music show during most of the late 90s. I tried to get as many Boone based acts to give me demos or live recordings from their shows at Klondike or Rafters. I have no proof of this, but I believe may have been the first person ever to play Old Crow Medicine Show on the radio. I was ...

Re: Prayers for people under the Russian thumb.
This is a long but very informative article on this with Fiona Hill - longtime Russian expert - it's worth the time to read - https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2022/02/28/world-war-iii-already-there-00012340 Not much new for those of us who have been following this part of the world for decade...

Re: Prayers for people under the Russian thumb.
Someone at church yesterday said that Putin's grandfather was in the KGB under Stalin. Does anyone know if this true? KGB didnt exist when stalin was alive. I've no idea, but considering Putin was KGB and the inherent nepotism of the Soviet state, I think it is safe to assume there are Stalin-era N...

This is history not politics You're reading it after it was cleaned up. Thanks for cleaning it up. The Kievan Rus, Romanov Dynasty, the feud between Stalin and Trotsky, Holodomor, and Glastnost are history (and relevant history at that). But the current invasion very much is politics. But I agree o...

Re: Prayers for people under the Russian thumb.
Speaking of Putin, many if not all, major USA media outlets including CBS are saying that the angry, isolated, and paranoid Russian has put his entire nuclear empire on high alert. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/ukraine-russia-invasion-war-putin-nuclear-forces-high-alert/ The only good outcome might ...

Re: Prayers for people under the Russian thumb.
My worries with China is not their involvement in Ukraine, but what they may want to do with Taiwan. After watching what happened in Afghanistan and now Ukraine, they may now feel it is time to make a move. All this while we have lost our self dependence on Oil. As gas prices rise, both Russia & Ch...

Re: App Professor just wants to be paid as much as a Dominos driver
Rome didn't fall. It evolved into wide range of successors states that still exist today in almost a direct line of unbroken history, and the Roman Catholic Church (and its offshoots). So you're saying secession is an option and NY and California would be international travel? I'm ok with that. I w...

Having a patent and making money on said patent are two different things. True, but if this guy doesn't make any money off this find, than it's not nearly as impressive as we all seem to think it is. If it's anywhere close to as big a deal as it sounds to me, the guy should be a billionaire Maybe h...

Re: App Professor just wants to be paid as much as a Dominos driver
We can't find humble leaders that are there for the people not a power grab. It's like Rome. And Rome fell. Wonder if that says something about America? [/quote] Rome didn't fall. It evolved into wide range of successors states that still exist today in almost a direct line of unbroken history, and...

Re: App Professor just wants to be paid as much as a Dominos driver
I'd argue that anything more than 15 an hour, including tips, is overpaid for a delivery driver. I say that as someone who has done it in the last year for extra cash. That 23 an hour likely only exists from midnight to close on thur, fri, and sat. The rest of the time, it is closer to 8 an hour. I...

Re: App Professor just wants to be paid as much as a Dominos driver
I had this professor for one class, then dropped it after the first day. All we were going to do was read Marx. You show read Marx. I have, some at least. He is fascinating and one of the most important thinkers of the last 200 years. Of course, how his ignorant unreadable nonsense became so influe...

Hopefully he likes it at App and we can retain him once this thing blows up. What a great idea for production of energy. This really could be a world changing type of technology. Well the article says he has received a patent for this amazing discovery, so I wouldn't be surprised if he isn't workin...

JMU, Marshall, ODU and Southern Miss are going to get better fast with ESPN exposure. (Unfortunately...Probably UNCC as well). My wife is a VCU grad, and a couple of weeks ago, she was really irritated because she wanted to watch the VCU-ODU basketball game. That is a big rivalry game for both scho...
