Re: Great App State Follow
The only thing wrong with highlights is that they are void of the low lights. I would hope so in this case because they are simply showing plays to show what Kohl can do. If you first see a couple sacks, interception, and fumble then you won't have interest in seeing more. The sole purpose of a hig...

Re: Dowell Loggains SI Article
Appreciate you sharing the article, but besides it being poorly written, it was a pretty depressing account of what the current landscape is. And should DL enjoy any success he’s outta here with the first good offer. What’s depressing about it? Sounds like a microcosm of American life to me. And ye...

Re: QB1 battle?
And I allowed for that fact in my comment, but again, Loggains sounded pretty adamant that no one had taken the job. Not exactly far fetched idea considering both of the guys who we think are competing for it had only been here for a spring at this point.

Re: QB1 battle?
In my opinion, I'm uncertain about who will be the starting quarterback, especially with fifty days left until the season. However, I do have a gut feeling, and many of you know that I often struggle to articulate my insight. I believe—trying not to wear my Black and Gold-colored glasses— this abou...

Re: QB1 battle?
Clark lobbied hard to get McCall. Drink decided to go with a guy that was on the other side of the country that by all accounts he had no previous relationship with. This was the first of two colossal misses at the QB position for Drink. McCall likely didn’t commit because Satt had Conley rated hig...

Re: QB1 battle?
I know hindsight is 20/20 but, I could easily see in the first few series of Burger vs same for Aguilar that Joey was obviously better. Keep in mind it was against inferior competition, Gardner Webb, and anybody we believed would have been the starter (and 1st or 2nd backup) should have been able t...

Re: Staff Reductions Coming To ADs
We will just have to disagree on that one. Honestly, what is there to disagree with? My post was not an opinion; it is a fact. The Supreme Court is tasked with interpreting the law for our country, when they say something is unlawful (broken) then it is. You can disagree with the ruling, but it is ...

Re: Staff Reductions Coming To ADs
It wasn't broke so they fixed it. The Supreme Court actually said it was broke, in a unanimous decision. Like it or not, in our country that means that it was broke. We will just have to disagree on that one. Honestly, what is there to disagree with? My post was not an opinion; it is a fact. The Su...

Re: An Interesting List to Head
I’m being a little hyperbolic when I say this, but about the only move I liked outta Shawn Clark for the last few years was him making it known last year that the goal was to be the G5 rep in the playoff. That should be App’s goal. Not reaching it shouldn’t make any season a failure, but that should...

Re: Staff Reductions Coming To ADs
Equipment budget is not the first thing I think of when cutting spending in a university athletic department. I would think it would be the last place to see cuts. Yeah that seems like a pretty misguided place to cut, but I guess there are no great options. I was also under the assumption that Nike...

Re: Staff Reductions Coming To ADs
Trev Albert was the AD walking the hallways and involved deeply into the sports program....not some yo-yo on a message board who has never walked the hallways of the App. St. basketball program. You are not Trev Alberts. I am sure you are not going to that inference and the reason why...but that is...

Re: Staff Reductions Coming To ADs
I am not defending anything. I was not the person of ignorance suggesting to eliminate positions or adding positions when I do not live in the athletic department. I actually have some sense of intelligence. I would never suggest adding or eliminating positions when I have not walked the hallways o...

Re: Staff Reductions Coming To ADs
Thanks for confirming that you have absolutely no idea what the assistant basketball coaches at App. St. do on a daily basis...but somehow qualified out of ignorance to terminate a few. I love how you pick apart one sentence I said and ignore all the other stuff. I know what basketball coaches do a...

The trimming of athletic departments across the country is going to be a common theme with the revenue sharing.

Whoever was pitching in the junior college World Series this past month are the players that are not coming. Dangit, 247 might not be right then. Was looking forward to seeing Gage Peterson pitch from Walter’s State. He was signed with us and tore up JuCo and did well in the JuCo world series. Do y...

Re: Staff Reductions Coming To ADs
The financials provided above are pretty clear. All of the teams are a fiscal money pit. Yes people are going to pick football and men’s basketball over all of the others. That’s not a flex when pretty much everyone in America would say the same thing. The point that is being made is the revenue is...

Re: Staff Reductions Coming To ADs
Title IX is a requirement that must be met for federal funding. If schools lose federal dollars that benefit academia because of athletics then it could get really ugly. I’d check the House Settlement as I believe that money distribution from the schools has to be appropriated across both genders. ...

Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread
If I read stats correctly. Over 5 era in 2025. Under 4 era in 2024. Not sure if the changes in staff compliment. Were they a younger group? Did they have a few studs last year that went the way if nil. I know EasyU did not have a typical EasyU year. If they had not won conference tournament, I do n...
