Re: Just my two cents on expansion of the SEC and the 12 team CFP

Is signing day going to be even more of a fiasco? Are some of these guys going to have different sponsors hats on the table? How about those delusional guys who have been told by crazy uncles that they are the best? How many Alabama recruits are expecting paydays that aren’t gonna happen? Going to b...

Re: 2021 depth

I’ve watched a ton of football in my life. I could not really coach it but I believe I have a good feel for many of the nuances involved. What I don’t really get is the difference in a good and great offensive line or special teams coach. If a team has great talent (hopefully experienced) offensive ...

Re: If this team took Duke’s place

Well can’t say I didn’t try. Attempted a different topic that had zero to do with our schedule or our opponents this year as they currently exist. Purely a hypothetical what if we switched places for just ONE season with Duke who I picked pretty much at random.

Re: If this team took Duke’s place

Honestly I really tend to agree with 7-5 and really only looked at this year in a bubble considering the talent we have returning. It’s a given that to compete on a weekly basis in the ACC we would need a little more depth and meat on the lines in particular. I thought that the schedule was cool to ...

If this team took Duke’s place

We need a (hopefully) fun and obviously worthless topic- lol. Let’s say that for this season alone we swapped places with Duke- honestly I just grabbed a random Coastal team. How would we fare: @Charlotte NC A&T Northwestern Kansas @UNC Ga Tech @UVA @Wake Pitt @Va Tech Louisville- Satt comes home! M...

Re: Breakout player predictions? Picks for each side of the ball.

Offense Jamir Smith Defense A lot of solid depth so it could be any number of guys. But I will go with Jalen McLeod. Good picks 94. Jahmir Smith could be a huge impact player at RB if he comes in ready to play. Plays with speed and power. A 225-230 Ramrod that is not afraid of lowering the shoulder...

Re: What are possible home on home series?

First off I think a potential solution to the whole playoff deal is for every P5 to play 8 conference games then 2 other P5’s and 2 G5’s for their non-conference games. The G5’s would play 8 conference games then the 2 P5’s and 2 other G5 non-conference games. Nobody plays FCS except possibly for Sp...

Re: Euro Soccer 2021

Just imagine being at BOA watching the Panthers V Bucs and it’s a 0-0 game. Each team moves the ball consistently between the 30’s all day and the crowd chants and goes nuts when a back rips off an 8 yarder or a pass play goes for 10. Nobody makes even a FG. The excitement mounts as the Panthers fi...

Re: Euro Soccer 2021

I honestly tried to watch a little bit of this game yesterday. Watched some, went outside, cleaned the pool, came back in..still 1-1. Did something else for a while- still 1-1. Watched a little bit of the overtime (or extra time)…still 1-1. I agree about using guys off the bench for penalty kicks. S...

Re: UNC players don't favor a 12-team playoff

I sort of compare this with many pro athletes who leave a really good team, some after either a championship or nice playoff run to go to a crappy team simply for more money. Can’t really blame them but when that happens it’s obvious that they really don’t care about winning. I’m also convinced that...

Re: UNC players don't favor a 12-team playoff

I have to disagree with you on this - If a player, coach, team don't have an ultimate goal of playing for the conference championship or playoff possibility or bowl games then why are they there??? - Of course, every team will not reach that goal but isn't that what they play for? - Back in 2005, 2...

Re: UNC players don't favor a 12-team playoff

I’m sure that 99% of all college football players do love playing the game and a great majority really appreciate the free education. I’m also pretty sure that most hardcore fans would love to see a virtually endless season. Most also want to see expanded playoffs especially those who follow schools...

Re: Euro Soccer 2021

How about when a player goes down and they take him off on a stretcher and then in a few minutes he’s magically healed? I know they put extra time back on for injuries but what I don’t get is the clock running after a goal or during penalties and corners. There never seems to be any outcry over what...

Re: $500 a month to all miami players on scholarship

Just imagine if there was a traditional minor league system for basketball and football so any aspiring superstar could bypass college altogether and try his luck at 18 in a regular pay for play situation. Those kids who aspire to attend college for at least 4 years but also want to play a sport cou...

Re: $500 a month to all miami players on scholarship

Now one of the curious aspects of this deal has come out- the starting QB and the 3rd string punter both getting $500 a month? That’s gonna fly with those dudes? I read the article. It absolutely reeks of seedy. Schools have been crucified for a player receiving a meal yet this is allowed?

Re: Starting tomorrow, NCAA athletes can make money from endorsements

I'm not so sure about this scenario - say, in Charlotte, - It's a professional sports town and tell me who would pay a UNCC player any type of substantial money to rep a product? - I would say most of the greater Charlotte area couldn't tell you the names of 5 UNCC athletes - Totally agree. I belie...

Re: Starting tomorrow, NCAA athletes can make money from endorsements

I am a little mixed on how I feel about the whole situation. The people who are all on board with this who are in the camp of “these poor student athletes are taken advantage of” blah, blah, blah. The schools make millions off of their backs and they get nothing. I’m not totally in favor of that arg...

Re: Starting tomorrow, NCAA athletes can make money from endorsements

If someone will pay $1m for a piece of cardboard (old baseball card) they will probably pay some kid an outrageous amount of money basically for nothing. It’s ironic that a select few will lead their respective teams to championships which bring in millions and get zip for it but could possibly make...
