Re: What if Western Michigan is bypassed?
Just like I told you last year Saint - APP wasn't going to the NY6 even if we had been 12-0 --- just not going to happen to "lowest tier" (not my words nor my thinking) G5 conference --- If we had gone 12-0 with wins over Miami and Tennessee, we would be going to the NY6 bowl. No doubt Yes, we woul...

Re: What if Western Michigan is bypassed?
We probably need to figure out how to outright win the Sunbelt first. Before we get too excited.

Agreed. I'd want to play in the Flint Bowl if it meant the best opponent we could face.B30020 wrote:so three of our five bowl locations are Las Vegas, New Orleans and Orlando! Wherever we go I just want to play the best team available!!

We are throwing darts in the dark at this point, but SB Nation has us in the NO Bowl against La Tech. That'd be a heck of a lot of fun.

Re: I like this guy's rankings ---
I like it too, but I don't find it accurate. I've watched enough college football this year to know that we aren't the 23rd best team in the nation. And before anyone calls me a Debbie Downer (I know, I know) I'm not down on us. We are awesome and have had an awesome year. Despite our loss in Troy i...

I'm happy to see him playing well today. I still think his arm is weak for an FBS quaterback.

Re: Clock Management
There are a bunch of reasons we lost, including Troy being the better team tonight. But there is a trend of Satterfield not knowing how to manage the last 2 minutes of a game. It's frustrating and I have yet to see any improvement. Let's hope we see some growth from him in this regard.

Re: espn 3
Honestly, it's embarrassing that our conference can't muster up any sort of interest in a game of this caliber. This is effectively the conference championship game and it's getting less exposure than Fordham v. Holy Cross.

Re: Really, Marshall ?
It is kind of a caustic tale of what NCCAF can be. Marshall was a top 10 ranked team at one point. It's actually kind is scary to see how far they've fallen.

Re: Really, Marshall ?
Man oh man. I've seen some embarrassing losses in my day. But I'd shut the whole damn program down if I lost to UNCC. Brutal loss for Marshall. Awful awful stuff.

Re: Opinions...
Yeah they were a pretty good ball team. I had a brief chuckle at the end of the game though, when I was a bit disappointed that we let them back into it I thought to myself "hell I'd be losing my mind 5 years ago, if we beat Akron by a TD in Akron". Funny how the bar continues to rise for this progr...

Re: Lamb performance so far
I was very critical of Lamb last week post Miami, but he did a very nice job today. Wonderful bounce back game for him. I still think QB is an area of focus for us going into next season, but glad to see Taylor have a nice performance.

Re: We suck
The Miami fans have a point. A bad loss to a good team means we should accept that we're lower-tier. Just like when the U got absolutely boatraced by Clemson last year, shut out at "home", they shut down their football program and replaced it with an interpretive dance team. OR it could be the case...

Re: let's put it behind us and just win out!!!
I would really like to see AJ Howard focus on his tackling this season. Aside from the very obvious first missed tackle that led to the big 80yd TD run for Miami, he also had another very bad miss along the sidelines on one of the long bombs from Kaaya. In both cases, he seemingly launched his body ...

Re: We suck
How does Miami compare to Iowa and Mississippi State? Seemingly good FBS P5's taken down by South Alabama and SDS. Do we just read too much of our own print? Absolutely. I was discouraged to see the amount of our fans talking smack on the Miami message board. I don't recall us acting that way back ...

Re: We suck
We don't suck. But we aren't near as good as many of us thought. We will probably lose a game or two in conference, and I'm real worried about Akron next week. I think we finish 8-4 or 7-5.

Re: let's put it behind us and just win out!!!
Need to find an Offense first. This might be an unpopular opinion, but I find Taylor to be atrocious under center. He's a mediocre scrambler and an FCS quality passer. And, if be willing to give him a pass as an upper class man/captain if it meant he was cool and collected when the going got tough....
