Re: Season Opener
Does anyone know if there will be an audio broadcast of some sort? I doubt it. At least not from ASN. Baseball is usually neglected until basketball season is over. Then broadcasts usually only occur during home games. This time of year it is live stats and the hope the opposing team has audio avai...

Media Day
Take about 30 minutes and listen to this media day interview with Coach Smith and seniors Dallas DeVrieze and Brian Bauk. As always, a really good and easy to listen to interview with Coach Smith. He's won every interview and press conference thus far, can't wait to see the product that he puts on t...

Re: New uni's
Trivia question: Why do baseball players wear stirrups for socks? What useful purpose do they serve? Back in the day, the dye that was used to color socks could cause blood poisoning if a player got cleated and it got into the cut. Because of this, players started wearing a white sock (sanitary) un...

Right, I was making a joke.
Game 3 today. Hoping to see some fight out of the Gold squad to not get swept. Anybody know what the winning team gets? Steak dinner with losers as waiters? Bragging rights? Anything?

Not gonna make the 3:30 first pitches due to work. Keeping up with it as much as I can through @AppBaseball on Twitter. Haven't found a roster for the teams anywhere though. Hope the Mountaineers can pull this one out.

Re: Omaha is not a destination...
Holy crap I want to play for this guy!! The culture is not going to completely change after 1 workout but this was a heck of a start. Love seeing the players buy in and push each other and their bodies to new heights. First time in as long as I can remember that I'm actually excited to go up the mou...

Re: Hiring of new head baseball coach near?
After watching the presser, Kermit seems to be the type that is committed to developing the boys as players as well as developing them as men. This hire seems to be a step in the right direction for our program.

Re: Hiring of new head baseball coach near?
Sometimes names that are released can be a bit of a smoke screen to give fans something to chew on while we wait. I understand that. Still very surprised at how quiet the interview process has been. I downloaded twitter just to follow Kendall Rogers and the only thing he's mentioned about it is tha...

Re: Hiring of new head baseball coach near?
Here's to hoping that we bring in someone that is a proven winner as a head coach - no matter what division he comes from. Gary Gilmore at CCU came from DII, Mike Fox at UNC came from DIII. I haven't heard any names still, other than the 4 that WSJ Guy (RIP) released a couple weeks ago. Amazed at ho...

Blackandgold, Winston Salem journal guy had correct information and actually proved your point for you. You should probably take your own advice and sit back and let all this play out.

Re: Hiring of new head baseball coach near?
This is an exciting and very important time for our program. Whoever we hire will need to start recruiting our locker room immediately. After a sub par year and coach getting fired, the easy thing for our players to do will be to pack up and leave, and we need to avoid as much attrition as possible....

Re: New Baseball Coach Search
I don't think we need to give someone his first head coaching job. This is not an easy place to win. With ULL, South Alabama, and whatever the name of that team in Conway, SC is in the Sun Belt, I think it would be a tall order to a expect a first time head coach to come in and win soon enough for u...

Anybody heard anything else regarding Esposito or any other names that may be in the mix? The Proposed Date of Hire on the job posting is 7/18/16 so I figure interviews and speculations will start heating up here shortly.

Re: 2016 Top Party Schools in NC
I hate lists like these. How do you determine what the best party school is? Personal experience? Pictures you see on Instagram? Number of times featured on The Chive? This is dumb. Fact of the matter is, every school is a party school if you want it to be. LOL @ Meredith College being on the list. ...

I've heard Kermit Smith's name thrown around some as well. Played for Pollard at Pfiffer and has taken both Belmont Abbey and Lander to multiple D2 World Series. This guys sounds like a great option. No offense to Sammy, but I'd like for us to take the same approach we did when hiring Pollard. Go h...

Re: Esposito next coach at App?
I don't understand all the hype around Esposito. Recruiting has gone in the tank in at USC since he took over and, from what I hear, fans in Columbia are hoping he will get the axe here shortly. Which makes me think, does he really want the job? Or is he asking for more money just to buy some time t...

Re: Coastal to Omaha
As much as I'm pulling for The Chants, I can't say that I'm not jealous of them. We are at a pivotal point in our baseball program where we have the opportunity to bring in a coach that will turn our program around and get us to Omaha. We need to bring in someone that is a proven winner as a head co...
