Re: Time to turn the page.......
One huge aspect of our defense that was evident Thursday night was our line depth and strength. How many times did our "undersized " linemen push right through that SEC offensive line? UT fans can use words like vanilla but that part of the game was undeniable. As long as we remain disciplined and ...

Vols - 35
App - 17
Lots of ground game will be had, the clock will wind down fast, we will not see either of our team's true identities this early in the season.
Hope you all go 11-1 this season.

Re: Why we should get ready to hear "Appy State"
Uh you can look at UT people and tell they are not one of us.....wearing that Dreamcicle orange....I'm gonna puke. Let it all out. Holding it in will only make you feel worse. :D That being said. I had no idea until this game. "Appy" is just said casually in reference to the school anywhere I've ev...

Re: Bleacher Report - UT and App - decent analysis
You can see why we have reason to be excited. If we can split or better the 4 game stretch of Florida, at Georgia, at Texas AM, and Bama, we can likely go 10-2 and win the East, getting a shot at the SEC title. Obviously reality is almost always different than predictions. That is why the games are...

Re: Bleacher Report - UT and App - decent analysis
Here is my takeaway from a boat load of UT preseason hype. UT, in preseason hype, sounds like the biggest, baddest beast in CFB. I hear a lot of people act like they are literally untouchable. These same folks act like they will roll everybody on their schedule. Maybe they will but maybe they won't...

Re: Tennessee Vols two deep roster
Just to serve as a reminder, App has not scored more than 14 points in one of these games since 2009 at ECU. Tennessee has more returning starters and a new DC. However Venables at Clemson is one of the best in the biz. We really need to gain first downs and hit a houdini play or two in this one. W...

Re: Tenn Game Plan
Below is excerpt from GoVols247. Interesting. But players and coaches alike have said they haven’t addressed Appalachian State’s most memorable upset of a major program nearly a decade ago despite the fact that two of Tennessee’s assistant coaches, offensive coordinator Mike DeBord and defensive li...

Absolutely.
If it becomes necessary though, he will do it. However, I expect us to try and use the run game and keep it plain.
Do you guys have any good clips to illustrate what I should be looking for in your offense? All I have to go on last year was your bowl game.

Re: Tenn Game Plan
One of my concerns is how well are we going to handle UT's hurry up tempo. I watched some of the Outback Bowl and that is when Northwestern seemed to have trouble stopping UT. That was one area where we struggled last year when teams decided to pick up the pace (i.e. Clemson, stAte, Troy). This is ...

Re: Tenn Game Plan
Hi guys. I come in peace as well. I typically converse with opposing fan bases before our openers. I made friends with USU and BGSU posters in years past. I'm very excited for this game, and while I do believe it will be a victory for us (shocker I know), I also believe it will be closer than many ...

Re: Tennessee Q&A
I think we'll see a lot of base defense from them unless we have early success. This is most likely true. We may reveal our hand a bit against VT, but unless you guys are swinging for the fences with success, you likely will not see what our defense will truly look like until we play Florida in wee...

Thank you both for the replies. As I mentioned I will definitely be following along with you guys after this game regardless of outcome. That's pretty impressive considering Clemson's DEs were beasts last year. Hopefully your O linemen all have career years, starting after the UT game of course. :P
