Re: Hold on to your hats ….

This may not be PC but I don’t want a Woke Chancellor like Harvard. I do want proper balance between academics and athletics. Students need to feel safe while attending App State and focus on preparing themselves for professional life in the real world. I want a leader that provides all that and do...

Re: Another Portal Loss and Portal Discussion

I mean in this case it clearly worked out for Jalen, he’s getting paid more than he would at App AND he’s a significant contributor.

While he would get plenty of nfl consideration at App there’s no doubt if he’s successful in the SEC that =higher draft position=more money

Re: UNCC looking to get R1 title

They relaxed the requirements for 2025, ECU will also get R1 classification. I too, am hopeful that App will be able to focus on developing more research and doctoral programs, and I see App Hickory as our vehicle to do so. Most of this goes back to institutional mission. App has a remit from the st...

Re: Angel steps down as WBB coach

I’ll just put it all out there. YOLO Marshall WBB went and spent 60k for two recruits through NIL. That’s 30k a pop. That’s the going rate. (Janay Sanders got 25k to go to Minnesota.) The Marshall AD rolled out the red carpet for her and prioritized WBB. Caldwell’s husband was given a job on the me...

Re: March Madness

When you look at their success, or lack thereof, over the past 30 years in all sports, they are very mid major: Last football conference championship is 1979 I think. Hadn't won ACC basketball tourney since 87 before this year & last regular season since 74 I think. Baseball is the only thing that ...

In my opinion Clemson has fallen back to earth. I'll put them in the Wake, State and UNC category.
You all know what that could mean on any particular Saturday!
they aren't world beaters but Clemson baseline is higher than those teams.

Are they beatable? I think so. But so was 2022-2023 UNC

I was hoping to get a P5 retread but maybe an up and comer will help WBB take the next step.

what are we thinking? $500k base

I think with the guaranteed supplementary that would push him into the upper 600s

Re: Kerns agrees to new contract

Great News!!! This is a very good move on DG's part to reassure everybody that Kerns has a commitment. Kerns can move forward knowing he has a security blanket and a longer runway. This should also help him with commitments from players. Like said above, see if he can pull back in some of these pla...

Re: 2024-25 Roster Breakdown & Wishlist

Maybe this is a negotiation tactic. Kerns demands a BIG raise and if they meet it then all these guys on portal come back with him. If not, everybody is gone? Basically team union forcing school to up coaches salary or else. Who knows? Does anybody have a better explanation? I doubt it. Who wants t...

Re: Portal season (Abson, Spillers, etc)

What are the chances Kerns is back? Y'all can't think this exodus would happen if he were staying. 0% This just seems really weird. Season ends-- coach leaves for bigger school/ more $ -- players transfer. That progression makes sense. Having all the players transfer out before the coach leaves is ...

I just saw Spillers list that has reached out to him. Wake is the only better team out of about 8. Grass ain’t always greener. Where are you able to see schools that have reached out? https://x.com/jamieshaw5/status/1772722835980468576?s=46&t=UfUtPHfzYe5R3hJ5cku44g I'd say Wake, Arizona State and U...

Re: Basketball Scores of interest Final 2 weeks

Good compilation. I don't think it's likely that Princeton or McNeese St. gets an at-large bid, but you never know. I'd also say root for Michigan State (to boost JMU's profile) and the better OOC teams we played/beat (primarily Auburn, of course, but also UNCW, Toledo, etc.). In terms of the AAC, ...
