Re: Eastern NC BBQ
I interned in Lexington one summer while at App and ate Speedy's or Lexington BBQ for lunch at least 3 times a week. Good times. But I like Texas style brisket best.....sorry, I know I am a disgrace to every other native North Carolinians, and will now see myself out. No shame. I actually smoked my...

Re: Staff Reductions Coming To ADs
I love how you pick apart one sentence I said and ignore all the other stuff. I know what basketball coaches do and my whole point is that other schools have smaller staffs so we don't have to have 6 coaches. If other D1 schools can have 4 then we can. I am just saying if they can do it fine then w...

Re: Staff Reductions Coming To ADs
I know what coaches do in general and I know that support staffs and coaching staffs aren't the same everywhere. Many schools have just 4 women's basketball coaches, instead of 6. If each of the 6 are so crucial then why do many schools have less? Just because App does it one way does not make it t...

Re: Eastern NC BBQ
My father in laws pig cooker. Otherwise, it is Wilbur's for me. Like a good steak, great BBQ needs no other additives once off the pig cooker. The chef has their rub while cooking . With that said, nothing but vinegar if I have to put some on after I pull from the cooker This is my default strategy...

Re: Staff Reductions Coming To ADs
I know what they do and because of that I know that you don't have to have 6 of them. You need to take a few minutes and go count the coaches at schools. Just because South Carolina has 6 does not mean you need 6. Go look at the coaching staffs of schools like Johnson C Smith and Elon. Both of them...

Re: Staff Reductions Coming To ADs
Staff cuts are happening at schools ready and just saying that you might cut an assistant coach of a sport is not throwing stuff against the wall. There are schools like SFA cutting multiple sports so for some regional schools to cut a coach here or there or lower size of support staff could become...

Re: Staff Reductions Coming To ADs
Exactly. Nothing more we can do. There are people paid a lot of money to find solutions to all this stuff and that is their job, not ours. But let's throw Sh#t at the wall out of ignorance and suggest that assistant basketball coaches should be cut.. Staff cuts are happening at schools ready and ju...

Re: Staff Reductions Coming To ADs
That is fine but the powers that be are mainly focused on football and basketball and when the antitrust exemption happens and all the legal stuff plays out I would not be surprised if secondary sports don't like where they end up. That is true about the donors but if suggestions are being given to...

Re: Boise Tailgate
After the Wyoming fiasco I said I would never attend another Alumni Association tailgate. The one at UNC wasn’t bad though. Are you talking about the game and situational coaching or the actual alumni tailgate being a fiasco? Yeah, they were both bad but I was talking about the tailgate. The venue ...

Re: Staff Reductions Coming To ADs
The financials provided above are pretty clear. All of the teams are a fiscal money pit. Yes people are going to pick football and men’s basketball over all of the others. That’s not a flex when pretty much everyone in America would say the same thing. The point that is being made is the revenue is...

Re: Staff Reductions Coming To ADs
I figured you were rounding based on numbers you saw online. I would love to see the exact amount of money that every sport brought in this past year and the amount of alumni donations for the AD overall and those that were given just to a specific sport. If you find a link with exact numbers I wou...

Re: App State hires new assistant GM
Couldn't DLo do this job in addition to HC responsibilities and serving drinks on the sidelines? I simply offered something as a way to lower costs to those of you complaining that we don't make enough money and saying maybe we can find ways to lower the budget. No need to make a lame joke about ev...

Re: Staff Reductions Coming To ADs
It is a booster who loves golf and basically keeps the program afloat because they love it, right? It is not because they are selling out matches and drawing revenue from crowds or TV money, correct? So what’s your point? Baseball sells tickets but it doesn’t generate the revenue that makes it self...

Re: Staff Reductions Coming To ADs
Do strikes really hurt the players? Maybe short run while on strike. Seems NFL, NBA and MLB players getting paid more after each strike.

Re: Staff Reductions Coming To ADs
This is easy to say sitting behind a keyboard with no impact to one’s life. Are you suggesting that we have had folks that take 100 days of vacation and only work 9-5? Do you have proof to back that up? So, now we have went from we need to cut staff as we have bloat and they can take on additional ...
