Re: Staff Reductions Coming To ADs
I figured you were rounding based on numbers you saw online. I would love to see the exact amount of money that every sport brought in this past year and the amount of alumni donations for the AD overall and those that were given just to a specific sport. If you find a link with exact numbers I wou...

Re: App State hires new assistant GM
Couldn't DLo do this job in addition to HC responsibilities and serving drinks on the sidelines? I simply offered something as a way to lower costs to those of you complaining that we don't make enough money and saying maybe we can find ways to lower the budget. No need to make a lame joke about ev...

Re: Staff Reductions Coming To ADs
It is a booster who loves golf and basically keeps the program afloat because they love it, right? It is not because they are selling out matches and drawing revenue from crowds or TV money, correct? So what’s your point? Baseball sells tickets but it doesn’t generate the revenue that makes it self...

Do strikes really hurt the players? Maybe short run while on strike. Seems NFL, NBA and MLB players getting paid more after each strike.

Generally, yes, strikes have benefited athletes, primarily in the area of collective bargaining and achieving better working conditions. Re: Staff Reductions Coming To ADs
This is easy to say sitting behind a keyboard with no impact to one’s life. Are you suggesting that we have had folks that take 100 days of vacation and only work 9-5? Do you have proof to back that up? So, now we have went from we need to cut staff as we have bloat and they can take on additional ...

Re: Staff Reductions Coming To ADs
So now that this information is out , I can say that we have men working 7 days a week for basically the privilege of rebuilding something great. That is what it takes to win. You can't take 100 vacation days a year if you are a coach, scout, recruiter, player, etc. and be great. It is not a 9-5 M-...

Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread
Have we really consistently been a winner. Since 2000, other than Pollard years of 2009,, 2010 and 2012....which were exceptional years....we have had some overall winning records including Kermit in 2024. However, our history is quite a few losing records and if over .500...a few games over .500

Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread
I am curious. How much are we spending compared to other SBC teams? (Not D1 overall). And, how do our facilities compare? practice field, weight room, etc If, in line, with others ...one may have expectations that we should be as competitive. However, I feel we need to be near the top in order to co...

Re: Staff Reductions Coming To ADs
Hot off the press. DLo is taking over place kicking , long snapper and punt coaching responsibilities. I was up in Boone today and ran into him at Booneshine. Seems that he is moonlighting as a brewmaster as well. The man can do it all. Renaissance Man. The sequel. Hmmm. Leads to another fund raisi...

Re: Staff Reductions Coming To ADs
Caution should be taken here not to paint with a broad brush. The financial realities, staffing levels and staff efficacy at each institution vary widely and due to any number of factors. Outside of the top/bottom of the college sports food chain, I’m not sure it’s fair to make arbitrary judgements...

Re: Staff Reductions Coming To ADs
Trimming the fat would imply that one has fat to trim. All the power programs do and even we could cut some positions. We did just fine before 2015 and did not have near the amount of jobs as we do now. Our problem is we have a bloated department in terms of numbers and because of that we don't pay...
