I don't know the numbers but I imagine soccer actually costs more than wrestling.

Re: MBB at Wake Forest, NIT 1st round, Wednesday, March 20, 2024, 8:00 p.m., ESPN+, LJVM, Winston-Salem, 421 Warfare
Our only chance at sustained mid major success is to become a premier place to develop players for higher levels of play whether that be the top teams or the nba draft. I don't see keeping players as the biggest problem. To me the biggest problem is being able to keep a coach that can develop a pro...

Re: March Madness
Ok. I'm pulling for NC State. 4/5 starters are seniors, and they are leaving it all on the court for a coach who was about to be fired. I can get behind that and cheer for a "local" team.
You know the powers of the universe want to see a rag tag ncsu vs 1 seed Houston.

We lost that game in the first 10 minutes going something like 1-11 on 3pts. Yea the refs hosed us a few times but the refs don't take our shots or call our plays. We are an OK 3pt shooting team, but I hate what we did jacking them up right and left, that isn't us. I've seen this too many times in t...

Re: NIT
Most champions (33 out of 38) of the NCAA Tournament were 1, 2, or 3-seeds fron 1985 to 2023. I know people like to get butt hurt over missing out on the table scraps....but you weren't winning a anyway. Seed, Number of Champs, Percentage of Champs 1 24 63% 2 5 13% 3 4 11% 4 2 5% 5 0 0% 6 1 3% 7 1 3...

Re: My condolences UNC Chapel Hill
That win triggered a part of his contract that says if he wins the conference tour ey he gets a 2 year extension and an extra 400k per year for the remainder of his contract. So what really just happened is NC state is now stuck with him unless they want a much fatter buyout and a mess. What a brill...

And that's the point. Athletics and academics should have never been this intertwined. We are charging students 2k+ over 4 years for something they don't use without giving anyone an opt out choice.

Re: Student Fees
The average student never steps foot in any sports arena. This is an App athletics fan board so the bias is pretty heavy, but fees just "tax" the vast group that cares nothing for athletics. If the fees go to support the student union, library, or other campus amenities then that is fine as 90%+ of ...

Re: Student Fees
Ours was over 700 last I saw and if $700 is a non event for you then count yourself lucky. Add that up over the years a student is there and it's much more than a non event.
