Re: 2023 Baseball Mega Thread

I hope Kermit stays, I also hope he has to go find a new pitching coach. One or two guys having trouble finding the zone, OK. Pretty much the entire staff save for Xander and Welch for the entire season? Seems like not a ton of development is taking place.

Re: 2023 Baseball Mega Thread

Seems to be the theme over the last several years for our pitchers...lots of WPs and HBP. Edit: In fairness, before yesterday our pitchers this year had not actually thrown many of each (1 and 3). Yesterday they threw 4 and had 1 HBP. Today we've thrown 3 WP and hit 2 batters. If not for the level ...

Re: Perfect job for some board members!

Happy to see stuff like this. Looks like we are making a commitment to the program and Coach Clark. It is probably a backfill from losing Henry Stone. Going to admit that I don’t get that granular about the program. I didn’t know we had someone in that position. We actually have four. Two for offen...

Lol I have my issues with Ware, but he provides much better info than the guy who likes to play dress up as an insider on Yosef’s Cabin.

Re: CBS Sports rates 3rd year head coaches

Some of you guys are so scope-locked on the '22 season you overlook this was a 3 year overview - 2020 (9-3) 2021 (10-4) --- but, hey, don't consider those because the 2022 season turned App State into a mediocre program whose coach is on the hot-seat or should have been fired --------- I’m looking ...

The support we have for our coach is just astounding. We are such a wonderful supportive fanbase. Any coach would just love to have us.
On the flip side, a coach is going to take a passionate fanbase over an apathetic one everyday of the week.

Re: Sloan hired for DC

Lol thanks for proving my point. AppStateNews can’t have anyone “questioning” the staff or he has to man his post as MouthPiece and protect Clark at all costs. By the way, the only thing you’ll see me “complaining” about, is the constant running up the middle on 3rd and 4th and short. Everything el...

Re: Sloan hired for DC

If it was posed as a question, sure. But it wasn't. It was posed as matter of fact statement. If you didn't have a history of complaining about every little thing, I'd give you the benefit of doubt. Is it a constructive critique or is it a question? Stop moving the goal posts... Sure, its a message...

Re: Sloan hired for DC

What you said wasn't constructive critique though. What you said was matter of fact that the staff went through portal window without certain staff in place. That didn't happen. Instead, you decided to attack the coaches/program because you don't agree with their thought process. A big difference. ...

Re: Sloan hired for DC

Forgive him. He judges what we do based on what that football juggernaut in Greenville does. No, I’m just not so far up App folks ass that I can see what other schools are doing comparatively and am OK with making some changes. You cry any time a constructive critique is mentioned. Shawn and footba...

Re: Sloan hired for DC

I just don’t get the thought process here, unless Shawn is done with the portal until after spring ball. We went pretty much the entire portal window with no DC and no OL coach. But we didn't. Forgive him. He judges what we do based on what that football juggernaut in Greenville does. No, I’m just ...

Re: Sloan hired for DC

I guess this means App is keeping the 3-4. It also likely limited the pool of coaches. I'm baffled as to why it took this long to announce if it was done for a while. I made a joke the other day that we probably hired someone December 19th and that the 247 article would show that backdated date. Ke...

Clark gonna live and die by recycling old blood up the mountain. Interested to see how his OC hire plays out.

Re: Here we go again...Looks like the OC is out

Definitely. His drive, desire, and passion is second to none. Not discounting that at all. He knows what we want to do and how to make it happen. My concern with him as OC is more that he's unproven. He had one decent season at GW and gave GaSo a scare. But, he also was the OC for an offense that o...

Re: Here we go again...Looks like the OC is out

Taylor would jump the next opportunity just as fast as the previous 5 have done. Hell, he jumped from OC for family to be just a QB coach at a P5. If the offense performs under him, teams will come calling. App State offense is a known commodity in the college football world and they'll always come...

Washington State picked up WKU OC. He's 27 years old.

It's time for Taylor Lamb.
Average age of our current on-field staff is 49 years old, with one guy under 40. Color me shocked if Clark finally takes the youth route.

Re: Here we go again...Looks like the OC is out

This sucks. This royally sucks. Six offensive coordinators in six years. An eight-week search for a defensive coordinator. Spring practice apparently begins soon. And one of the highest minimum ticket prices in all the G5 coming off a 6-6 season. Let AppSt94 tell it, 8 weeks to find a DC is standar...

Re: Drinkwitz gets raise and 2 year extension

Nobody is upset het went from SBC to SEC. Hell, I'd wager nobody is upset about his lack of recruiting. People are just pointing out he couldn't recruit and it's showing now. I'll have to go back and do the research (on a phone and hard to do) when I get back home to my computer, but a quick look a...
