Re: Passenger Rail study funding from 2023 Q3 and 2024 Q1
It faster than flying that is for sure ...but it is what it is ...not a high speed train similar to the Japanese bullet train...as well . One of the U. S. failures many years ago. Increasing accessibility with a high speed bullet train option is where we should focus. DC .to NYC is just one example...

Re: NCAA Video Game
I know the conferences did but according to an article I read there are some schools who declined. There is some expenses that EA Sports might be pushing onto the schools with having some take their own video with 360° cameras and drone shots but this seems like a lot of great advertising that woul...

Re: Passenger Rail study funding from 2023 Q3 and 2024 Q1
Our government isn’t serious about mass transit. Too busy spending money outside of the country. It is moving in that direction. The Infrastructure Bill was bipartisan. Amtrak ridership is up and in VA and NC setting records. It is a bit chicken and egg. The services need to be in place to be used ...

Re: Passenger Rail study funding from 2023 Q3 and 2024 Q1
Unless it is with high speed option, like Eurostar or similar, I question demand to use. The Acela (sp?) from DC to NYC still takes too long in my opinion.. Its faster than flying between the two after you consider the time to get into the city from either airport and you don't need to deal with TS...

Passenger Rail study funding from 2023 Q3 and 2024 Q1
Back in December, NC did pretty good with some state supported routes being funded for study and major funding from Richmond to Raleigh was funded to begin work. Earlier in the week the FRA released some proposed long distance routes. Nothing guaranteed but one proposed route would run from Chattano...

Re: Elon getting Charlotte law school.
High point was wildly in debt last I had heard. Their campus is pretty ridiculous. Iron fencing all the way around with a number of amenities. Lots of jersey license plates. I was at a meeting there about 2 years ago and I asked that question about debt. They stated that all the new construction wa...

Check out around 3:25 to 3:19 and tell me how the Marshall player was not walking. That may be the worse no call I have watched in dickety -two years. I have to say dickety since the Kaiser stole our word for twenty.

Re: Security Guard goes off?
I saw it. What you are not mentioning (and likely did not see) is they were kicked out from those seats 4 different times. The 4th time security finally had enough. If it's the same incident. First time-be nice. Second time-be nice but firm and maybe crack a joke about the folks not hearing you the...

Re: Cuts at UNCA
As a high school teacher, I've said for a while that we were on the verge of a higher ed bubble and a market correction when it comes to college. Too many kids go to college that don't need to or shouldn't. There are a lot of jobs out there that "require" a college degree, but don't actually. They ...

Re: Cuts at UNCA
There are going to be winners and losers in all of this. I do hope App State is on the winning side in 40 or 50 years. My wife and I were discussing this tonight. Many smaller colleges up north are feeling the squeeze and either closing or merging with other small schools in an attempt to keep the ...
