Watched some of the Dayton v VCU game. What I noticed about that game and several mid majors in general is the packed arena and environment in general. They have that same atmosphere we had for the Auburn and JMU games all the time. It's a bit of a downer watching many of our games home and road wi...

Looks like we can expect nothing less than a full-on dogfight this weekend, regardless of who is playing.

Re: Basketball Scores of interest Final 2 weeks

Congrats to Wake for locking up an NIT bid last night! I think they thought they were a lock after beating Duke and then proceed to lay a couple of eggs. The thing is, the first two were on the road, where they've been consistently bad all year. After losing two in a row, no way to use complacency ...

Funny how the media is all but crowning JMU as king of everything before the tournament is even played. Couple that with how this Mountaineer squad is getting little mention in the press and even less love. As the sage once observed, a fine line exists between fear and anger. So let the pundits pile...

Re: And once again

If we didn't have the opportunity here to play "I'm right & you're wrong", what would we talk about until August?

Good thing we have the SBC tourney & App Baseball ramping up.

Re: Conference Tourney

Many of these mid-level teams in larger conferences receive NCAA bids for one reason: their fanbases. Everyone loves a potential Cinderella story, but teams with large fanbases get more butts in seats and eyes on TV advertisements.

Re: App Receiving Votes…No Longer Just One

Does not the word quadrant imply equal sizes? It seems to mean each quadrant is 1/4 of the whole. They could at least use a more accurate name, such as "A section of the list of teams that has been designed to keep the mid-majors out and the monied schools with resources and every other advantage I...

In my opinion, no athletics department should be allowed to just take on debt without showing a real plan for servicing that debt.
Seriously? I mean, if the Federal government can do it...why can't Appalachian State?

Congrats to the honorees!

For the players who felt shafted, it's just more motivation to right some wrongs before the tournament ends.

Re: And once again

Sources tell me that the Chancellor could retire this year. I think she has done an outstanding job pushing the University forward across the board but if you think otherwise it’s ok , and I don’t care. I am concerned about her successor and the likelihood of someone less willing to stand up to the...

Re: MENS MID MAJOR TOP 3

UVA about to take another blowout loss. I'm biased but we can beat them by 10 at least. If they remain a high seeded tournament team something is wrong. I realized they were playing Duke inside that hellscape to visiting teams known as Cameron Indoor, but the Hoo’s were plain awful today. Ugly bask...

Re: And once again

Gillin has done a lot of good for App during his time on the mountain. So the cat’s earned a payday and a bigger gig, if one comes around.

That said, getting some fresh blood in the AD’s office wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing.

To put a bow on this, I recognize that everyone here has different feelings about the postgame celebration. First, props to the Mothership for televising the festivities. I can’t recall seeing many televised celebrations after teams win the regular season crown. So ESPN cutting the broadcast right a...

App is in a really good place as we look forward to Pensacola: 1. Team is peaking at the right time 2. Plenty of scoring weapons 3. Stifling defense 4. No divas, no drama 4. Team is relatively healthy 5. Players are all-in on Kerns’ system 6. Kerns: exceptional HC & a great staff Finally, what makes...

MASSIVE props to our players, Coach Kerns and his amazing staff!

Regardless of what happens in Pensacola, this has been a magical season…one for the ages, friends.
